This 78 summer has certainly been a productive and happy one. Since our joyful world premiere of The 78 Project Movie at SXSW Film Festival in March, we've had the honor of being invited to Nashville Film Festival, Independendent Film Fest Boston and to the Film Society of Lincoln Center for our New York premiere and to the Music Box Theater for our Chicago premiere. This past Monday we had a wonderful evening screening and answering questions at the Jacob Burns Film Center. And it's all just the beginning!

None of this would have even been possible were it not for the tremendous support and enthusiasm of our generous Kickstarter backers. We feel very fortunate to have your support and we're very grateful to you for it. Thank you so much!

**Our next two screenings will be in Washington, DC and Los Angeles. If you chose a premiere ticket for your reward and you'll be in D.C. or Los Angeles, please let us know that you'd like to come to the screening. And if you won't be in town, no need to fret. There will be more opportunities in the very near future!

Throughout the summer we've been hard at work to put together a distribution plan for the movie that reflects the DIY spirit in which it was made, and in which you helped us to make it. And now, we're overjoyed to tell you that beginning in September... The 78 Project Movie is playing in theaters nationwide! We're honored to be presenting the film in person at the Library of Congress on September 5th, in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent Theater on September 10 and then in many more cities as our Official Release Tour kicks off. Where we go is up to you!

You can bring The 78 Project Movie to a theater near you!

Would you like to host a screening of The 78 Project Movie in your hometown? We’ll be thrilled to have you join our team!

As part of our getting the movie out into theaters, we're very happy to announce that we've partnered up with Gathr Films, whose Theatrical On Demand® approach enables audiences to bring The 78 Project Movie to a theater in their own hometown. Community is at the heart of The 78 Project Movie and we’re excited to be able to use Gathr’s innovative system to share the film with you and your friends in the same grassroots spirit in which it was made. The process is simple and very straightforward: simply go to this Hosting page for The 78 Project Movie and Click on the Gathr It! button. You will be asked a few basic questions about the date, time and place you would like to have the screening, and you’ll hear back by email confirming that your screening is approved, and you can start spreading the word! We’ll also send you helpful information on promoting your screening.

Hosting a screening is easy and fun. You can make an exciting night of it and invite your friends, turn it into a beautiful community gathering. It’s the perfect way to bring an evening of music and film to your favorite theater or event space, and with our help and the help of our Theatrical On Demand® partner Gathr, it’ll be simple to make it a big success!

We couldn’t have made The 78 Project Movie without the help of friends like you around the country and around the world. And we’re so excited to share this next part of the adventure with you, bringing the film to the big screens and to life!

Rewards update

If you chose a DVD for your reward, we wanted to let you know that we are now in the process of putting together the packaging for the DVD, which will be available to you prior to its official release date. Since we'll need to first get through the theatrical run of the film, we'll be able to give you more specific DVD dates in the coming months. Thank you for your patience, it won't be long now!
