A journey across America to record today’s musicians on 1930s technology in a quest to connect with the haunting recordings of the past
The 78 Project is on a journey across America to make one-of-a-kind 78rpm records with musicians in their hometowns using a 1930s Presto direct-to-disc recorder. With one microphone. With one blank disc. In one 3-minute take.

What a great idea this is... I watched some of the videos on your website, they're lovely - "Old Paint" especially, very moving.

I'm a little puzzled why there seems to be no reward of a download (or a CD) of all the songs you're recording on this trip? Seems to be an obvious thing to add, unless rights issues would make this difficult. An HD download of the movie would be nice, too.

A cool addition to the higher pledge levels would be if you could get a stamper made from one of your favourite recordings from the trip (is that possible?) and get a small limited run of real 78RPM records pressed :) - admittedly not many people would have the equipment to play them, and it would probably have to be pressed on vinyl rather than shellac, but it would still be neat.

Happy to pledge $35 for a DVD though - good luck with this Kickstarter, I hope it makes it...

Hi, do I need to add international shipping for the pledge level with the DVD?
