It's time to save Film Threat

Hello loyal Film Threat supporters!

Just over a year ago, nearly 400 of you contributed to a campaign to bring Film Threat back. And while we did not achieve our goal (we got over halfway there) we learned that there is still a lot of support for an outlet that challenged Hollywood's status quo and stood up for independents. As a thank you, I sent you all "Save Film Threat" buttons because I wanted you to know how much your support meant to me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Since the campaign ended, I've received so many messages asking me to please try again. So, let's do this.

Over the last year, I have been working on a new version of the Film Threat web site. And it looks pretty amazing. If most of you are willing to contribute again, it will be possible to bring Film Threat back.

So, here's a few questions.

- Are you still interested in contributing?

- About how much can you donate?

- Would you be happy with "digital only" rewards (which would be a cost-savings) or would you want a physical item like a poster or a t-shirt? (Or does this even matter?)

Also please feel free to offer any other comments as I begin to design this new campaign. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Onward!

Chris Gore

P.S. DAY ONE REWARDS

Once I launch a new campaign, I want to be sure that it succeeds this time around. I also want all of you to have the opportunity to get special rewards only available on DAY ONE. It's really important that as many backers as possible donate on the FIRST DAY of the campaign. We will relaunch this campaign sometime in June and only the original backers will know this exact date. Once we announce the date, please put this in your calendar and be ready for FILM THREAT DAY ONE REWARDS

      Think of the children...

How much I would donate would completely be dependent on the specific month. I am totally cool with only digital rewards, but at a certain tier a T-shirt or something would be nice.

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. It sounds like there is still a lot of support for Film Threat. Your feedback is helping to craft our new campaign. Keep posting and I'll keep reading all the comments. I'll announce our launch date privately to all the previous backers. I'll even post a link to the design of the new site so you can check it out as we develop it. If you want, you can even offer feedback on the site as we prepare to launch it. It might even be fun to do a Google hangout so I can tell you my plans personally. It's going to be a lot of fun! Thanks again!

Absolutely in again! Probably around $25-50. A tshirt would gladly be worn if offered--but as I'm working on fulfillment of my own successful Kickstarter campaign this week, I totally understand digital rewards being best for the cause and would love those too.

      A) Definitely!!!
      B) digital rewards are cool!
      C) firsties rewards are perfect!

I can definitely do equal or better on my last contribution.
      Let's do this!!!

      - Are you still interested in contributing?
Yes. Not only interested...I will contribute again.

      - About how much can you donate?
Probably only $25 but wish I could do more; still working to complete our latest picture (DIANE) with our investor funds long spent.
      - Would you be happy with "digital only" rewards (which would be a cost-savings) or would you want a physical item like a poster or a t-shirt? (Or does this even matter?)
Does not matter. I'd likely select a no-reward option to make this easier for you, Chris.
I will help spread the word, too. Cheers, MM

      - Sure, I'm in.
      - $50
      - All digital is fine, preferred, actually. Why mess with postage and shipping if you don't have to.

Chris, YOU HAVE TO PROMOTE YOUR CAMPAIGNS better. You have multiple friends with podcasts. They'd be happy to plug you for free, but if you feel guilty check about buying an ad slot.

      A big resounding YES!
      $100
A successful comeback is reward enough.

Yes Chris I'm definitely in for contributing again. Probably in the $25-$50 range. And I'm totally cool with digital rewards. FT was my bible back when I worked in the video club in the 90s. I need it back.

    10. Forrest Proctor on May 24, 2016

Yep, I would contribute, perhaps $25-30 and digital rewards are just as neat as physical rewards. :-)

Love the Film Thread joke. That's what publicists used to think we were called. Appreciate all these positive comments.

Yay Chris Gore, yay Firm Thread, and a fist-bump someday is all the physical reward I could ever hope for. Day 1 backer, activate!

    14. Mark Sieber on May 24, 2016

I'm in. Whatever rewards you consider doable will be great. I can contribute maybe 50 bucks

    15. Chris Gore 3-time creator on May 24, 2016

Thanks a lot Geoff! I hope everyone is up for it again. And the digital only rewards are actually going to be very cool. You'll see.

    16. Geoff Martin on May 24, 2016
