Tex Murphy is like jello…there’s always room for a little more.
Greetings Mutant League,
HAPPY SUMMER!!! We are very happy with how “Tesla Effect” has been received on GOG and Steam. Thank you so much for helping get the word out. We have a few more GOG & Steam sales for “Tesla Effect” planned in August so if you know someone who may be interested in the game, keep an eye on your email. We will let you know when these sales are happening so your friends, family, and coworkers can get a copy of “Tesla Effect” at a great price.
We are still in the midst of gathering all the Kickstarter incentives. Once all the Kickstarter incentives have arrived at BFG, we will send out an email notification to update your shipping address one final time! This should be sometime in the fall, so keep checking emails from Big Finish Games. And now, a word from Aaron Conners!...
“Tex Murphy is like jello…there’s always room for a little more.”
If you’d like a little more Tex Murphy, allow us to recommend the three excellent novels written by Aaron Conners. Here’s what readers are saying about the books:
One of the best mystery novels I've ever read. Aaron Conners continues to delight, amuse, puzzle (in a good way), and surprise.
The novel's story is continually inviting and beguiling. Just when you think you've figured something out, Conners throws another twist at you that's guaranteed to send you reeling. Even having played the game, I found myself constantly wanting to read "just one more chapter" before bed, which soon turned into 3 or 4 chapters and then, before I knew it, 3 or 4 A.M.
Very engaging, and raises some fascinating questions about where the story -- which is hopefully not over -- is going.
Some people may be skeptical with a book about a videogame character. Let me tell you, this is an amazing mystery novel in its own right. If you have played the game, this book adds more explanations and a stronger story, as well as the real finale; if you haven't, you will be pleasantly surprised and will want more.
It is not necessary to have played the game to enjoy this book. It stands on its own merits. Highly recommended to both Tex Murphy fans and anyone who enjoys noir detective fiction with a difference.
To anyone who has played the game, this is a must read. Despite being a different experience than the game, many things will just 'click' once you read about them in the novel.
Aaron is an exceptional writer that does a fine job of blending old-school-gumshoe prose with sci fi nerdiness. I'm a fan of the games but in a way an even bigger fan of the books. To me, Pandora Directive is one of the most exciting stories ever. The Under a Killing Moon novel is also fantastic.
Pick up these great reads to enjoy yourself or to introduce Tex Murphy to a non-gamer loved one. If you order the books from Aaron’s website (www.aaronconners.net), he will be happy to sign and/or add a special dedication for you. As a special incentive, if you order all three books together, you’ll get a $2 discount on each one.
E-book versions are available for Kindle, and the paperbacks are also available from Amazon and the CreateSpace Store.
And one more thing! Be sure to visit www.aaronconners.net for updates on two future novels. The first, to be released later this year, will pick up from the end of The Pandora Directive and relate Tex’s exciting adventures leading up to Tesla Effect. This story may only be available as a novel (it can’t be an FMV game, not without a time machine for the actors), but it just might end up being adapted into a unique interactive experience (stay tuned for details!). The second novel will be Tex Murphy’s grand finale and, hopefully, the basis for the final and greatest Tex Murphy game of all!
Kickstarter Rewards: Depending on your level of contribution to the Tesla Effect Kickstarter, you may already be receiving the new editions of Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive. These will be signed by Aaron and Chris and sent out along with the other Kickstarter incentives this fall. The new novel is not part of the Kickstarter rewards.
Thanks again, Mutant League!
