You're in the middle of a major campaign. It's long and involved, and takes tons of prep. Now you're just hours away from your next session, and you don't have anything ready. Fear not! When Professor Humbert Drumsley shows up at the table, there's a problem that your players need to solve. Or Humbert is the problem, whatever works. At any rate, it will keep the characters busy for the night!
Professor Humbert Drumsley: 5e Adventure Codex is a collection of short adventures compatible with the latest edition of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying system. Not only are these adventures ideal for low level characters, they're designed to be fun, fast-paced, and light-hearted.
Humbert is the stereotypical bumbling mage, perfect for introducing early in a campaign. He leans hard into the familiar fantasy tropes, and he brings along his special brand of kooky arcane accidents and unrelenting eldritch errors. You can use him to provide comic relief between major adventures, or to introduce your own quest hooks and plot points.
The finished Codex will be approximately 80+ pages in a 5.5 by 8.5 inch format. It will contain 10 short adventures, a character write up, statblocks, magic items, and more! The Codex is fully written and has seen a first round of editing. Illustrations have also been secured, using some top-notch artists from both in and outside the industry. Playtesting is ongoing, and we're looking forward to trying everything at the table before it's delivered to you.
Professor Humbert Drumsley is an aging wizard who is confined largely to his tower and estate. He dresses in the traditional garb of the magically inclined, favouring long flowing robes that match his long flowing beard. Often, he is seen wearing a pointy hat, which is purple and adorned with silver stars. While other wizards may scoff at his choice of attire, Humbert revels in it, feeling that it gives him an air of classic representation.
Humbert was once considered a wise scholar, but years of arcane invocations have left somewhat of a mark on his mind. After a magical incident, Humbert has been suspended from his chair at the local magical university ("But I'm still a professor, dammit!"). Humbert’s peers agree that his incompetence makes him an embarrassment, but he is so oblivious that many consider him blameless.
Humbert makes friends with nearly everyone he meets, seemingly having lost the ability to be cautious long ago (likely due to an early magical mishap). Humbert often barrels forward with delight, leading him to become (for better or worse) the center of attention at cocktail parties. Regardless of the latest mishap, he pursues his magical research with reckless abandon and rushes towards with his latest (and greatest!) discovery. He fails to consider that the common element in every disaster is himself.

Oh, I Hate Spiders! is a 2-hour 5e OGL adventure, suitable for 3-5 characters at 3rd level. Here the characters are introduced to Humbert, and of course, he needs help with something. God, he always needs help with something. Ok fine, just one more time!
Humbert was studying a sac of phase spider eggs in the basement of a local tavern, when he suddenly had to abandon his research. Because they were about to hatch. But don't worry, he didn't tell anyone. Probably everything is just fine, these things have a way of working themselves out. Well, now the entire place is infested, the tavern is empty, and the building is filled with ethereal fog!
"Just bring back a few live specimens," he says. "It'll be easy," he says. Humbert. What a thoughtless jerk.

All the Collector Editions include free shipping to anywhere in the world! And if we hit our stretch goals, there may even be some extra goodies in these packages.
Risks and challenges
With Humbert around, you never know what might happen! Kidding aside, this is our first Kickstarter. We're very excited, but like anything, there is always the risk that something might happen. Its important that we are mindful of unforeseen surprises.
The good news is that the risk of not fulfilling the campaign is extremely low. All the writing is completed (except for stretch goals!), and we are in the middle of editing and playtesting each chapter.
Since this will also be our first print product, we've added in a good buffer in case there are unforeseen challenges. We don't anticipate any problems, but you never know. No matter what, we will keep you informed every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
