All Terracea outer layer and mid layer jackets are designed to be attached together into a full 3-in-1 jacket, but they also perform at premium levels when worn separately. You pick the jacket types, styles, and colors that suit your individual preferences for a customized look with uncompromising performance.
Terracea 3-in-1 jackets are available in a range of styles and compositions, each with distinct functional advantages.
ALL TEMPERATURES AND CONDITIONS
We designed our jackets to cover an extremely wide range of conditions and temperatures. Depending on the combination of jackets you choose, you can be equipped for anything from lazy city strolls on warm, drizzly days to full days on the slopes in freezing blizzard conditions.
Terracea 3-in-1 jackets allow you to effortlessly adapt to your surroundings by attaching or detaching layers.
We evaluated thousands (literally!) of technical fabrics and components in order to determine the ideal mix of materials for our jackets.

AMC YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM
We want Terracea to serve as a platform that enables and encourages people to love and appreciate the outdoors the same way we do.
We recognize that many youth never get the opportunities that we had to explore the outdoors due to a variety of social and economic circumstances. We feel that everyone deserves those chances, while youth especially can benefit from a greater understanding of and appreciation for the outdoors.
The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to helping youth learn about and enjoy the outdoors, which is why we have decided to contribute a portion of all proceeds to the AMC YOP.
We will donate the lesser of 1% of net funds raised through this campaign or $2500 USD to the AMC YOP. As a new business we can't afford to donate more but every bit helps and we hope to increase that amount as Terracea grows.

How to take your measurements:
- Chest Range: Diameter of the chest, measured 1" below the arm pit and straight across the chest, around the back.
- Waist Range (Women's jackets only): Diameter of the waist, measured around the narrowest part of the midsection. Generally just below the bottom ribs.
- Hip Range: Diameter of the hips, measured around the widest part of the hips. Generally a few inches above the bottom hem of a regular length jacket.
- Sleeves: Distance measured from the bottom center (nape) of the neck, straight across the shoulder, and down the relaxed arm (with elbow slightly bent) to the wrist.
- Back Length: Distance measured down the back of the jacket from the bottom center (nape) of the neck to the end of the bottom hem.
NOTE: If you are in-between sizes or at the very top of a size range, we recommend sizing up!

Getting to this point has been one of the most rewarding but also one of the most difficult experiences of our lives. We both thought about throwing in the towel on several occasions and returning to the normalcy/safety of a regular 9-5. If it hadn't been for the encouragement and support we received from people throughout this endeavor, we absolutely would not have gotten Terracea to this point.
To our family, friends, colleagues, social media followers, naysayers (who helped us think critically about our business & jacket designs), anyone who has offered us a kind word, and you for reading this far and taking the time to hear us out, we extend our most heartfelt THANK YOU!! We hope what we've built exceeds your expectations and makes you proud to have helped us along the way.
Risks and challenges
We spent over two years developing our line of 3-in-1 jackets from scratch, as well as building out every aspect of Terracea, and in that time we faced a wide array of challenges; some were quick fixes, and some required a ton of flexibility, adaptability, and a bit of luck. At this point we are happy to say that we are near the end of the bulk production cycle for our jackets.
Fortunately for you, that means the challenges and risks remaining are relatively straightforward. Our jackets do exist in all the colors and styles shown (all those pictures are actual jacket shots), so that's not a concern for us and hopefully it isn't one for you. We strive to be transparent and we don't intend to deceive (or, dare we say, fleece) anyone.
A big and welcome challenge would be our ability to keep up with questions and messages from the KS community in the event this project takes off! It's just the two of us, so responding to a ton of inquiries may not happen immediately. That said, we will do our absolute best to keep up if we are inundated with inquiries, and we absolutely encourage the KS community to ask questions if they are unsure prior to pledging support.
Another risk is that our colors may appear slightly different from one person's monitor/phone to the next. We tried to get the colors as accurate as possible in all of our jacket images, however there is a chance that the jacket color a backer receives may differ a little from what was shown (e.g. the tone is slightly different). This is an issue faced by just about any online retailer, however it is still important to point out. We hope that our color reproductions throughout the campaign are true and accurately reflect the finished products for our backers.
A risk present in our project, and any Kickstarter project for that matter, is delays in getting our products into backers' hands. At this point, we expect to receive our jackets by mid-November, which means getting them into your hands around the 3rd or 4th week of November (just in time for ski season woot woot!). There may be delays in the shipping process, however we don't expect that they would amount to more than a week or two. So delivery of products to backers should occur very close to our expected timeline.
Since we are a brand new company, we are producing at relatively low volumes. Even if you start with 2,000 jackets, for instance, once you break that number down into male vs. female, insulated vs. non-insulated, Station style vs. Peak style, 5+ colors, and 5 sizes, suddenly you're looking at just a handful of jackets. So another risk is that we will run out of specific styles/colors/sizes quickly. We will do our best to satisfy everyone's preferences, but realistically backers will probably have to have a backup style/color in mind in the event their first choice runs out. We intend to contact backers almost immediately after they pledge so we can capture their jacket preferences, and update our running inventory accordingly. This will help us stay on top of which jacket style/color/size combinations have sold out, and update the KS community.
The most improbable risk is that the vessel carrying our jackets sinks (or gets hijacked by pirates; or the cargo container containing our jackets falls overboard, or spontaneously combusts). Obviously this would be devastating for Terracea, and highly unwelcome news for you. Fortunately, cargo ships don't sink often and the rate of containers being lost is extremely low, so it's not a major concern. If (and that's a giant IF) this happens, we will move to produce another full run of jackets (the shipment will be fully insured) and ship them out to backers ASAP.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
