I'm about to go on an east coast tour of the US and need your help to make it happen.
I just recently wrapped up writing and recording my upcoming full length album, entitled "Distant Love or: Time Never Meant Anything, And Never Will." After two years spent making it happen, the album is mixed, mastered, and want to release it on November 6, 2012 via The Revera Corporation, a self-release record company I started with a couple friends.
Check out the first single from the album, Time Meant Nothing.
These videos were released in May. These are just a couple examples of what I've been up to since releasing the digital single for Time Meant Nothing. This is also what you can expect from our live shows. We've spent a lot of time tweaking our live shows for the best possible experience.
EAST COAST TOUR
The album is finished. Videos have wrapped. The first single for Distant Love is out. I'm getting blog coverage and love from fans. Now I have the opportunity to really let people know the album is on its way.
I've booked a solid two week tour of the east coast with a full band, which kicks off September 6 and goes through the 21st. We're playing with national bands such as Beach Day (Kanine Records), Pop. 1280 (Sacred Bones), and Suns (Chicago, IL), and local bands Blossoms (Charlotte, NC), Magic Places (Savannah, GA), Heaven's Gate (Brooklyn, NY), Mittenfields (DC), and more. It's shaping up to be a great time, and I'm determined to make it happen.
But here's the thing: doing it all by myself hasn't been easy. Ask any band who's playing the game and they'll tell you it's fun, but it's also a lot of hard work.
Aside from the releases I've put out on various record labels over the years, I financed my last LP (Morals) and seven-inch single on my own. I produced all of my own promotional material, including the videos you just saw, merch, and photos, which adds up really fast. I'm also extremely fair when it comes to paying session musicians, which is sometimes the name of the game when you're doing it on your own. Everyone has rent that is due, and personal needs always come before wants.
So here it goes! Help me out in exchange for some really cool (and some very rare) gifts. Definitely check them out. Here's a breakdown of what your contribution will help finance:
- Renting a tour van. I found a great deal on a rental vehicle that'll get everyone to each venue safely and hold all of our gear. No crazy bells and whistles; functionality is key.
- Affording gas. I did the math, and it's going to be over $1,000 alone in gas. Living in Florida definitely has its setbacks when it comes to traveling.
- Paying three touring musicians. Asking three professional musicians to hit the road for two weeks at a time is a big deal when there's rent to pay. The musicians are Nicolas Espinosa (drummer from the Deaf Poets), Gabriela Dimaro (bassist, singer from Morningwar), and Andrew McLees (session guitarist and tour manager).
- Printing additional merchandise. Having a well-stocked merch table will help us make a little extra on the road. Plus it's great PR having it around.
Money for lodging, food, and fun is coming out of our own pockets at our discretion, but I can guarantee that between everyone's rent and the high costs of food, we won't have too much to move around.
My ultimate goal is to self-release the next LP and reach sustainability as a professional touring musician. Your contribution will help make this tour happen. All profits from this tour will be spent releasing my second album. Next time I hit the road, profit generated from album sales will help finance the tour. And the cycle repeats itself.
I also want to expand my fan base. I truly believe in my newest album, and want as many people to know about it as possible. I've gotten great feedback from the single, and can't wait to share the newest LP with everyone. Even the smallest contribution is a sign of good faith in what I'm doing. With enough help, you can own a copy of the upcoming LP, which I hope you will cherish in your record collection.
Truly, thank you.
