The Devil and The Detective is an independent comic series about what happens when God's murdered body washes up on the shores of Boston and the Devil Himself has to hire psychic detective John Freemont to find the killer. As they travel across America to solve the mystery, they'll face off against scarecrow policemen, crystal infected zombies, living pocket dimensions, and cyborg funerals. If you're a fan of fantasy road trip adventures, like American Gods and Preacher, or weird fiction like the podcast Welcome to Nightvale, then you'll love The Devil and The Detective.
The third issue is 20 pages long, black and white. It's the second and final part of the "Shadow Puppets" story started in issue 2. Where on their way to the first suspect in God's murder, Satan and Freemont stop in the town of Hemlock, where the townspeople have been infected by a strange crystal disease and stalk the streets as zombies.
About the Creators
The Devil and The Detective has been an idea I've been working on for a long time, and I'm glad to welcome you to the series.
I'm a comic book artist and writer. As well as creating The Devil and The Detective, I've had my short fiction published in the 2014 Twisted Christmas Anthology, the webmagazine Crabfat, and the #RockIsNotDead Anthology by 11th Dimension Press.
Lucas Gattoni is a seasoned graphic designer turned comic book letterer, which has always been his dream job.
He loves facing each new project from scratch, taking time to plan ahead and decide the best he can bring to the table. His goal is always to help creators tell their story, achieving readability and making sure his lettering enhances the art and the script.
