Thank you for the clarification on the new 'big box' I totally overlooked it first go round. I am super excited for more City of Kings goodies, and look forward to painting up the minis. Looking forward to the whatever else you have in store!

      Hi Dorian,

I've just had a look at your survey and it looks like you have added a second copy of The City of Kings, this is why it's asking for your payment details as it wants to charge for the second game.

If you only want one copy of the game then you will need to go back to the ADD-ONS section and remove the second copy of the game.

Please feel free to message me if you need some help with this.

Also why the shipping to UK for standard City of Kings only without addons is 18 pounds? Suppose to be only 9 pounds...

Hi. When I try to finish pledge manage is asking me again for card details even when the price to pay is the price which I already pledge on kickstarter. So I don't need to pay extra. Why I need to provide card details once again? Can I be charge twice then?

@Frank - Thanks for the correction - it's no problem... I'm just obsessive enough that I decided to mock up some fake boxes from paper to see if they'd all fit in my existing box, and that one just didn't seem right.

Given the new info I suspect I could fit everything I'll have in that first box, but it will likely be tight, so now I have to decide if I want to play Tetris every time I put the game away.

I hate to waste cardboard (and money), so I was resistant to a replacement box. But now I just don't know :)

Ed Skevington: If the first print run had the 'original box,' and this print run has the 'bigger box,' what's the 'replacement box'?

Hey Ed, during our first print run we had some problems during shipping where many of the games got damaged. I didn't want backers to receive a damaged game so I designed a bigger replacement box, that could hold the original box and shipped these out together to backers.

So the replacement box was a one off smaller print some people got during the first Kickstarter.

@Philomorph, you are completely right, thank you for pointing this out. I mixed up the numbers slightly in my previous post, my apologies if this caused any problems.

      It should have been:

      9cm x 5cm x 6cm for each character pack
      15cm x 12cm x 6cm for the hero pack

    10. Philomorph on

@Frank Not to doubt you, but can you confirm that the hero miniatures tray is only 14cm x 6cm? Being American I had to look at a ruler to see how big that is, and it seems very small for 6 minis. For comparison, I could only fit 5 minis from Gloomhaven in that space.

Vince M: @Frank i don't understand. My credit card has already been charged for the game + shipping fees. Which charges was Saytrsong referring to?

There are a lot of people who's payments failed on the Kickstarter, or are choosing extra items and addons in the BackerKit. If you paid on Kickstarter and didn't add any extra items then you wont be charged again :)

Saytrsong: Do we get charged as soon as we complete our backer kit survey, or when the PM finally closes?

The charging will happen in waves, the first payment cycle will be in about 2 weeks.

Andre Tardiff: Does the bigger box come with the second print upgrade kit? I didn't realize there was a bigger box option and already completed my survey. How can I amend my choices? Survey seems locked down once completed.

      I'm afraid not, it's a separate item.

If you go to your confirmation page, at the top it will say "View confirmation" and will list the items you requested. Under the list is a "edit addons" option.

If you have any troubles then please let me know and I'll help you with it.

      Thanks,

      - Frank

Great then I have some time to put this PM aside to back more really great projects. I want to upgrade to the deluxe game but have to see if the funds are there at the end of the month.

    20. Philomorph on

Thanks Frank, that helps. I usually keep minis in plano-style boxes, unless they are very sturdy, so I'll have to consider it carefully. At least one of the minis may not even fit in the storage I usually use anyway :)

Philomorph: I just can't decide whether I should spring for the bigger box since I bought the World Packs tier.

The existing box is plenty big for the 1st printing stuff, and I assume the "upgrade kit" stuff will fit as well as side quests. I don't have any of the "deluxe" from the 1st campaign (no knock sheets, trays, or wooden tokens). But I'd like to at least fit the hero miniatures in the main box. And the extra two hero packs - well I've no idea how big that stuff is. Do you have any idea how much stuff will fit in the original box minus the deluxified bits?

I'm afraid it's not something I've done the maths for, as I don't yet have the production samples yet it isn't something I can easily test.

It might be worth knowing the miniatures come in plastic trays. The character pack trays are about 6cm * 5cm * 9cm and the hero pack tray is roughly 6cm * 5cm * 14cm. If you choose not to use the trays the minis will take up less space, but if you do use them then they are fairly bulky.

Hopefully that helps a little with the decision.

Hey Justin, yes. The hope is to keep it open for as long as possible, there are just some outside factors we need to consider (at the end of June) before we can confirm if it will be possible.

At the start of July we'll update as to how much longer it will be open.

Just did my survey last night. At the first I was like what the heck did I overpledge $12 for. It was late at night and I was exhausted. Finally figured it out, the big box! Looking forward to get those here!
