Day 30: The Beginning

Posted by Frank West (Creator)

Hey everyone!

It's 18:00 BST and that means there are only 24 hours until the Kickstarter closes, it's always great to see a campaign fund whilst at the same time, it is sad to see it end! But never fear, we still have a day to go and we'll have a celebration live stream tomorrow starting 2 hours before the Kickstarter finishes.

When I launched this Kickstarter, I had no idea how it would go, but as always you have been incredible and we've had thousands of people join us in making the next part of The City of Kings a reality, thank you! I can only ask that in these last 24 hours you continue to spread the word, tell your friends and let people know this is their last chance to support the campaign!

In before it's too late! Great campaign Frank. Well deserved success!

      Day 9:
You break through the woods and see a road in front of you. Looking around for any danger you spot a cart a short distance down the road. You walk towards the cart, ready for a trap or ambush, but instead you spot a man trying to repair the wheel. A horse whinnies startled as you get closer and the man quickly turns towards you with fear in his eyes. “Please don’t hurt us!” the man cries out and lifts his hands up in the air signalling surrender. From behind the cart a woman and two children appear, most likely his family. You relax your pose and calmly ask what the problem is. “We were ambushed by bandits” the man replies and gestures to the broken cart. “They took most our valuables and threatened to kill us but they suddenly left as quickly as they had appeared.” the man continued. “Please stranger, could you kindly help us? We would need wood to fix the wheel so we can be on our way home”.

      Option 1:
Deliver 2 wood to the man so he can fix the cartwheel.
      (2 XP)

      Option 2:
Deliver 2 wood and feeling sorry for the family you offer them 1 linen and 2 fish to help them get a new start and some food for their trip home.
      (4 XP, 1 Loot)

      Day 23:
I would say that @Karsten was right, but in case you were refering to the game concepts I would swap 1st answer to:
      1) 30 of November, 2016. On this update:
Oh, and in case you weren't refering to the day when the fisrt playtest happened but the time, we could swap second answer with this one:
      2. At 18:50. As this update describes:

I still thinking that @Karsen andwer fits better the nostalgic feeling of the quest :) But since we have no error margin here, let's cover all the options.

    3. Draki McGrother

      Day 22:
      1) 3 squares maximum
      2) 0 points
      3) 10, two rows of 5
      4) Old V’Sheel
      5) clean ancient relics

    4. Draki McGrother

      Day 25:
Earthshaker -> Stone shower: Earthshaker throws multiple stones from his body causing a stone rain over his enemies it targets an adjacent tile and may affect that tile's adjacents with the attack, the cost is reducing two points its maximum health per affected tile. To recover the maximum its maximum health Earth shaker have to step on the tile targetet by the main attack.

    5. Draki McGrother

      DAY 21:
Wounding damage: the damage inflicted by this monster reduces the maximum health. To recover the maximum-health loss you need special cares that only can be provided ending one turn at the city tile.

    6. Draki McGrother

      DAY 12:
"The gamusino is an imaginary animal used to play jokes, both children and hunters, novice fishermen, hikers, etc. The most common is to convince the novice that the gamusino is an elusive animal that can only be hunted at night."
It's a very valuable hunting piece, but really elusive, is a misterious small animal (rabbit size aproximately), it can only be seen at night and usually just a brief moment, like a small shadow with eyes among the branches of a tree or running to hide behind a rock. Not being a fierce oponent but an elusive one is the wisdom and the agility of the most expert hunters what let them hunt them with thier bare hands. But be careful, people can get hurted trying to catch it, fallng from a tree, triping over in the woods, in the darkness.

I would use this images as inspiration:

(I have a second option for day 12, it would be a monster inpired on the chupacabras: ...but maybe someone else could suggest it so it would count as another entry for day 12 ;)

(Day 9 option A should be complete since 5 hours ago. Then option B is active now at: 11 of 20)

    7. Draki McGrother

      DAY 28:
In the Inn of Lost Hope I would expect to find three pirates drinking "a secret mixture that contains one or more of the following: Kerosene, Propylene Glycol, Artificial Sweeteners, Sulfuric Acid, Rum, Acetone, Battery Acid, red dye#2, Scumm, Axle grease and/or pepperoni". I don't know, we could call this beverage "Grog" or something...

    8. Karsten Spiller on

      DAY 23
      1. 28 OCTOBER 2015
      2. The news about the first public play test was published 1 SEPTEMBER 2015. No date given on when the play test happenend might be the same day or any day before that.

    9. Ben Turner

Lets get Day 21 over the line:

Displacement - first attack on a creature each turn; draw a movement card - if move #1 can be taken, do that move and cancel the attack (and any retaliation), otherwise the attack succeeds.

Possibly a hard ability, but if cornered, it should be manageable. Also by limiting it to the first attack allows a follow up move and second attack to still strike during a player's turn. Could even limit it to once per creature turn (flip the ability to mark it used until it gets a turn) to lessen it somewhat more

    10. Kickstarter Addict

I backed this game not because of the amazing art and sound game play but because of the creator. Never seen one so involved in he posts and interacting with us backers . Frank's enthusiasm is so contagious from just posts to steams. I go out of my way to see them. I am so happy to be involved with this community.
