TCDP Weekly Video Update #1

Dear, wonderful Kickstarter backers,

Check out our week 1 video update on YouTube, featuring an intro by Brent, lots of dancing, and an interview with TCDP guest artist Julie Niekrasz. Also featuring music by Son Lux (both pieces also have GREAT music - you can check out the music of Utan's collaborator Alan Morse Davies here, and I highly recommend you do!):

The Traverse City Dance Project began our adventure in Traverse City, MI on Monday, July 2. Our group of 12 dancers came from different places across the country and world, and it's amazing to see how close we all are already - but that's what dance does!

We've accomplished so much already, setting two complete ballets: one by Mauro de Candia, the other by John Utans! Brent and I cannot wait for all of you to see these brilliant pieces, and our gorgeous dancers are making the extremely hard work look easy.

When not in the studio, we've been out and about, meeting the people of Traverse City, and they are getting excited for our shows! We believe we are doing something that will add a new layer of depth to the already rich culture of this community. If you know anyone who would be interested coming to our shows, please send them to the City Opera House website for tickets!

Your support has made this amazing project possible. Thank you, and enjoy the update video! Next week: Brent and Jen begin setting brand new works on the dancers of TCDP. Look forward to beautiful dancing, and to meeting more dancers!

In the meantime, we think you should join us - do a little dance right here in your living room or office, grab your kids if you've got them and dance around the kitchen, do some leaping and skipping on the beach.... feels great, no?
