ABOUT THE STORY:
20 to LIFE
20 to Life, is an ongoing prison based comic series set at the fictional La Muerte Penitentiary. It is gritty, raw, and has a lot of drama behind those walls. 3 main characters are highlighted in this series and you meet each of them in books 1, 2, and 3. While the Kickstarter campaign is specifically for book one, I would like to give you insight into the three books, and the characters that make up our stories. As of today, I have 6 total issues written. I am currently working on book seven. I hope this is just the beginning of bringing this series to life and having you join us behind the walls of La Muerte.
Book One (Currently in production):
Book one focuses on meeting Sergeant Gabriel Beckett, the womanizing alcoholic, who drowns himself not only in booze, but also in his work. Gabriel has had tragic events in his life leading him to his current career behind the bars at La Muerte. At the conclusion of book one, you will meet Ellie Daniels. She will be in the background so pay close attention.
A Little about Gabriel:
Gabriel has a hard time with people in general, and his closed off personality is much to be desired. Gabriel and Lieutenant Lou Fisher are constantly bumping heads. They can’t seem to get along, and Gabe has no sense of Lou’s command. Lieutenant Fisher orders Gabriel to train a new rookie Officer (Ellie) and Gabriel is not happy about it. Can Gabriel’s trainee Ellie penetrate past his insensitive and coldhearted exterior? Ellie seems to be creeping into his head. What is it about her?
Ellie Daniels was raised by her Grandmother. She is a rookie Officer whom always gets herself in trouble by talking under her breath. Ellie has a lot to learn, and is not all she seems.
A Little about Ellie:
Ellie seems to be getting through to Gabriel but not really anyone else. Ellie also seems to have a thing for Lieutenant, Lou Fisher. When Gabriel finds out, he is enraged. Ellie’s dark secrets and broken past bring her to La Muerte. What is she hiding?
Lieutenant Lou Fisher is the one in charge at La Muerte. Lou and Gabriel do not get along and it shows. Gabriel is jealous of how quickly Lou moved through the ranks, and is not afraid to make that known. A surprise happens at the end of book three that will leave you wanting more.
A Little about Lou:
Lou is a work fanatic and can be seen on the job at all hours. When Lou isn’t working, the hard-nosed Lieutenant can be found in the gym working out. Lou wants nothing more than the safety and security of the facility to be the number one priority, however, Lou is constantly bumping heads with upper management for more cameras and extra Officer’s. When Ellie starts working at La Muerte, the hard feelings between Lou and Gabriel erupt even further.
