TALKING MENTAL is a podcast series with a difference. There’s no tiptoeing around the big issues, no massaging egos, no soothing whale calls... It’s in your face, uncompromising and most importantly: honest.
Host and presenter Aaron Stadlin-Robbie lays himself bare. A long-term sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks, he speaks frankly to specialists in an attempt to get to the bottom of the whats, the whys and ways to help himself and others.
TALKING MENTAL is a quick start guide to understanding and dealing with mental health in general. With a series of podcasts and supporting information online, this is a DIRECT, FULL-ON and UNFILTERED path to greater understanding and recovery.
This is Aaron’s platform to speak to those in the know, from psychologists and sleep coaches to nutritionists and sex therapists.
Whilst helping himself to understand his own anxiety, he hopes it will encourage anyone who has been affected to start TALKING MENTAL.
AARON STADLIN-ROBBIE struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. An outgoing, positive thinking, sports-loving guy, his first panic attack came completely out of the blue.
For an entire year after his first attack, Aaron was misdiagnosed. He puts this down to having difficulty explaining what he was going through and looking for help in all the wrong places. The attacks left him feeling confused, frustrated and determined to get to the bottom of his disorder.
Finally figuring out that he could be diagnosed and that he was not alone was a big step in the right direction for his recovery. Aaron has found that speaking to people who understand mental health has given him the confidence to start talking openly about it. A proud Chiwi (half Chinese, half Kiwi), Aaron is a professional host and presenter based in Hong Kong. It seems only fitting that his cure can come from what he does best: talking.

SO WHY DO WE NEED YOUR BACKING?
It goes without saying that TALKING MENTAL is a project that we love and feel very strongly about. So far it has all been 100% self-funded by our small, but enthusiastic team. Unfortunately we are getting to a point where we need help to complete the first series and make TALKING MENTAL an on-going success.
Our target goal amount will go towards:
- Recording equipment
- Cost of producing and editing the podcast
- Video production and editing
- Live talks, workshops and panel discussions
- And last but definitely not least, promotion and building awareness around Mental Health in general.
