Music + Extra Life Charity Drive
Things at Tales of Game's are going strong as always! The content dudes are 100% working on the Wasteland, an area and town located outside of Tir na Nog, populating it with characters, quests and interesting things for the player to explore. Things are progressing well and we're pretty satisfied with what we've made so far! We've also been making big progress on some of the game's mechanical systems like zaubers, classes and our dynamic meme generator (only two of those are real, guess which ones). The big news at Tales of Game's HQ is that GZ, the programmer on the original Barkley, is staying with us for the rest of the month and working on some of the game's more interesting systems like gun'sfusion and DwarfNET. We've also done a couple great podcasts with some c00l dudes recently. If you've got the time to listen to us talk about our game for hours on end (you totally do), definitely check the Dunk City Barkley interview and our Two Dash Stash interview.
When I asked if Hundley had anything he wanted to include in the update, he said "just tell them your ace writer just played persona 4 and has decided to turn barkley 2 into a high school/dating simulation." Be prepared.
Extra Life Charity Stream
On November 2nd (tomorrow!!), we'll be streaming ourselves playing wretched vidcons as part of the Indie Megabooth's Extra Life charity stream, a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network that helps raise money for hospitals across the US and Canada. We're scheduled to play games at three different times - Wartune at 6:00 PM, Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 at 12:00 AM on Sunday and Barkley 2 at 4:00 AM, so tune in for the hootenanny of a lifetime, possibly an era.

Chef's Turgid Dirges
We've been keeping you up to date on the game's progress, but one thing we haven't really talked too much about is music. Barkley 2 currently has about 20-25 complete songs and about 50-70 songs that are in progress. I don't get to spend a lot of time working on music because I'm also doing writing and design, but I do give it my spare time and it's something I care a lot about. In fact, I'm pretty obsessive about it.
I've put together a video of songs sitting around in my idea folder, songs that are anywhere from 1-50% complete. These songs obviously all require a lot of work and represent ideas or things I'd like to do; some are just musical phrases I've written down so I don't forget them and others are somewhat more complete thoughts. They all need a LOT of work, some are unbelievably bad, they all need new instruments and they may or may not actually appear in the finished game, but I thought it would be neat to show you some of the stuff I've got kicking around in my head. Think of this as looking in an artist's sketchbook and seeing all of the stupid, incomplete crap that either turns into something good later on or dies f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
In a couple months, I'll make a second video to show where these songs have gone.
