Barkley 2 is part of the PAX Prime Indie MegaBooth

Mystical Greetings,

So we had promised big news mid-August and we have just that. We're going to PAX Prime in two weeks to be part of the awe-inspiring Indie MegaBooth!

That truck haul of bonkers nonsense above is going to be exhibited along with over 83 games from 78 developers. And how!

You can check out more information about Barkley 2 here on the IMB site.

If any of you kiddos are going to be in Seattle for PAX Prime from August 30th to September 2nd, send us a message or swing by Booth 867.  Surprises abound.

Everyone also let us know what you think about the video!  In an update very soon we'll walk through the video and let you know what's going on in detail.

Semper Games,

You should link the PAX footage video or whatever, I missed it while it was streamed live and can't find the archival.

Been watching the trailer over and over (mostly because the song is a great listen), but I also wanted to add... that the shell casings that get ejected from guns, since this is a sprite game, would it be possible to let them linger on the ground a bit longer? Not sure if it is. I've always loved spraying bullets everywhere and appreciating all the casings on the ground. In the trailer, they seem to vanish rather quickly. Just a minor detail.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about gun's fusing. Well, I guess that takes care of that!

Do show us some bball action in any future trailers though! That definitely is missing from this particular one, though it still does have me hyped.

    6. Tales of Game's Creator on August 16, 2013

Godewijn: There will be a bevy of bballs.

Karl: yeah I agree, that particular shotgun is terribly slow ... but our system for gun's fusing allows you to create a multitude of weapons all within the same gun's type, but that have radically different behaviors! We're not quite ready to show off how it all works though, but if you want quick shotguns, you can have very very quick shotguns.

Wow, looks great! I love it, really excited to see how that alignment chart works? Every tile has 9 squares on it... please tell me there's a Kawaii Alignment hidden in there somewhere?

The shotgun looks a tad slow, in terms of firing rate, do consider introducing a few shotguns that fire faster? Maybe they have long reload times between bursts? Or maybe that would just be imbalanced, but the shotgun just seems to be a tad too slow, which might be fine if it's just a very early game one.

Where B the B-balls? You *will* include B-balls, right?
      I miss the B-balls, maybe I should play 1 again :)

Yet to be seen Kareem: Accessories, Class Abilities and Z.A.U.B.E.R.S. (mainly because they don't exist yet, besides on design documents).

gameplay looks solid but i feel that the combat need something more like... active skills

I've decided I invested well in this game. If only I had more money at the time!

Something about how trailers and booths are too corporate... Build your own joke!

The gameplay looks awesome - can't wait to drag out the old Genesis. Lookin' good.

Neil Self, we've made active steps to make sure that isn't the case for the entire game.

#1 Our combat areas are being designed to make kiting less advantageous. There are small chokepoints that can't be just strafed through gun'sblazing.

#2 Damage, status effects, accuracy are POSITIVELY rewarded for proximity. The better you are at staying close, the more ill you can lay down on those baddies.

#3 Enemies know #2 as well and will be trying to keep YOU at bay, not the other way around.

Something we'll be talking about more in the months to come.

      ToGoverload? More like ToGasms!

I'm going to bring a basketball to PAX. My mission is to have it gain enough power levels with Tales of Game's Signature's that it can defeat the Ultimate B-Ball.

Can't wait to meet the ToG team!!1!

    17. Neil Self on August 15, 2013

Looks good. My only concern in the video is that it kind of seems like combat is slanted towards slowly backing away. I hope there's just as frequently good reason to also move towards and perpendicular to enemies. Also the more movement abilities the better; the dodge-roll looks cool, more of that please!

    18. Brian Silva on August 15, 2013

Totally gonna stop by the Indie Megabooth and check out your vidcon, I've got a couple friends working the booth anyway so I have no excuse. Can't wait for the abound surprises.
