Become the richest All-time star of Talenticity in a new competitive strategic steampunk board game of artists, gods, technology and visual magic.

Beloved by gods and all the inventors, Talenticity is the world’s brightest city of art, technology, and visual magic. Every evening, when the sun gilds the tree-tops of Talent-Park, the Gods wake up in the sky and talenti-citizens rush to the streets hungry for new emotions. This is the moment of truth for our heroes – the four most talented artists in the city. Run shows and earn Moneye, get blessed by gods to conquer the city with your talent!

There is the main playing field in the game  - the city of Talenticity, and a "secret field" - the Skies.  Whilst the main art-battle takes place in the city field:

God's Eye and Skies

The Skies are dynamic. Every time you take and view a part of the Skies, you will find a location where you are blessed to perform a show. You can relocate that part of the Skies to confuse other players.

Showrunning in Talenticity is like riding a gravy train: you can make a lot of Moneye! 

Show is the most valuable activity in the game. Each show has a basic earnings number and a god's sign. This number can be multiplied by two or more times in case special conditions take place: the show combos with your god and/or you have a mighty artifact. You can also get 2 extra Moneye if you perform the show in a matching location.

Moneye is the official currency of Talenticity. Artists receive Moneye for performing “shows”. The official “currency rate” is 1000 of viewers = 1 Moneye.

The richest artist at the end of the game is the WINNER! 

There are 8 mighty artifacts in Talenticity, that can seriously change the way the game goes. COOL HAT will add 5 more Moneye for a show, or STIMPACK will add 4 actions points this turn.

To get an artifact the player should find three Moneye-cards that form a special artifact code together and then exchange it for an artifact.

Talenticity is a mix of a strategy and tactical board game. Get your god card, let him help you to stay on top of charts, follow the Skies, collect show ideas from the deck, earn Moneye and find artifacts! And of course - explore the Talenticity field with your hero, perform, run shows and conquer the city. And meanwhile: watch out for other artists, they want this city too!  

Once upon a time, in a miracle universe far far away, four gods - patrons of light, electricity, night and steam-power: Aurora, Tesla, Selena, and Steam - decided to find out, who’s miracles are the most impressive ones and the challenge started… Gods tried to impress people on WunderEarth everyone in his own way, but every time at the end of the day every god had an equal amount of likes and followers. Whatever they tried - result was the same. A bug in the Universe? Who knows...

After centuries of art-battling with one another, they still couldn’t decide on who is the best.

Tired of meaningless battles gods decided to find the winner via… an art-battle among people on Planetart! Why should gods compete themselves, when they can use humans instead?

So, the gods created a beautiful city of art, technology, and magic in a sunny place on the Talent continent of Planetart. Aurora offered to invite artists, technicians, scientists and musicians from all over the world to come and take part in the most impressive art-battles of all times in Talenticity. When the city was finished, Steam god sent his mechapigeons with invite-letters to become the reachest and famous superstars to all candidates, and soon, Talenticity became the new capital of Planetart.

Years and years as the city lived, new stars raised and old stars fell, and today you can try yourself in riding the gravy train and creating stunning shows as one of the TOP4 stars of Talenticity: Earl Grey, Rocka Rolla, Disco Chimney, and Jolly Lady.

When we first started to think of Talenticity back in 2016, our main idea was to create a board game that will have unusual for traditional tabletop games mechanics based on the use of different tangible technologies. We wanted to create a sense of magic within a box with the game. 

Step by step, we realized, that no setting better than steampunk would support our idea of know-how technologies we were about to use. And all that, the idea, tech-features, setting, brainstorm... - altogether melted in a creative, no-violence and yet competitive art-battle game we called "Talenticity". 

We decided to make a steampunk game with a positive scenario with creative heroes - artists, creative process and competition, where every hero is climbing to the top of his talent realization. Here, in Talenticity, everything is on luck, talent, and Player's skills!

Our goal was to create a game with magic and secrets, and we were exploring techniques and optical effects, that would look stunning and add new dimensions to the gameplay. After a number of tries, we've chosen "hidden images" that reveal by optical decoding. 

Encoding images for a lens array was not such an easy task - we couldn't find any suitable software and had to develop an algorithm and write a program - encoder - by ourselves! Our programmer, Ilya, spent more than a month to do that, and here is the result:

As the original method for detecting card combinations, we've chosen "character encoding by subtraction" method - the one, when extra holes are covered with sections of other cards without punched holes and only the hidden word or symbol remains visible. 

Here we had to develop another program, but this one was much easier to do.

Creating "Talenticity": testing technical solutions, gameplay ideas and art-approach - we came to a game development formula we can explain as "Technology+Art=Magic", which did lead our path all the way through the exciting process of our board game creation.

Originally, we started with a game-idea for 2 players about a love story of two cool steampunk characters in a wonderful city - that's how Earl Grey, RockaRolla and Taleticity-town were born. As we tried several design approaches and tested the first prototypes, the game emerged into a strategic family board game for 2-4 players with gods, visual magic and crazy combos to earn Moneye.

When it came to the creation of characters' mini-figures, we decided to make it itself an art project. Using the characters' illustration,s a young talented sculptor from Kyiv Art Academy made quite big 20-cm character sculptures that later on were 3D-scanned and adapted for 3D-printing. 

Even the first several package solutions were hand-crafted before we prepared a blister 3-D prototype - we tried to do as much as possible with our hands to enchant our game with the magic of art. 

Along the way with illustration, design, visual techniques and playtests emerged our game of art, gods and optical magic - all the game elements evolutionized altogether, simultaneously. Talenticity was a kind of "game within itself" - every playtest, every new iteration of prototype production: sometimes we printed out new versions every week to enjoy colorful playtesting and reveal new possibilities of technics and game design varieties. 

Today, after two years of the creative process, technical experiments, playtests and production tests we, first of all, want to say our words of gratitude to our friends, colleagues, relatives, partners and all the others who joined us on the amazing Talenticity creation journey. The days we've spent together playing and brainstorming - it was something!

One more big thanks to our production partners Longpack Games, that accepted this kind of unusual game board production challenge and helped us to produce and test a big number of options. Now they're ready to bring the game to life after we finish the Kickstarter campaign and make all production and delivery preparation. 

So cool, now we can share the result of our work and fun together with all board games fans all over the world!

Risks and challenges

Talenticity is 90% ready for production. We made around 20 prototypes and quoted with many boardgame production companies worldwide and decided to manufacture the game with Longpack Games. Of course, sometimes things go wrong in life, but we are giving our selves some extra time in our plan and everything should be delivered on schedule.
We will be updating on a regular bases, and if something goes wrong, we will explain the situation and provide a new timeline.
Backers are responsible for import duties or any other duties that may be payable to the relevant tax authorities.
