About this project
Color Choices - Titanium Version Only
How much does it weigh?
(US Quarter weighs 5.5 grams)
Mini Aluminum (6061-T6) - ~4.4 grams
Mini Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) - ~7.8 grams
Mini Stealth (AISI 4130) - ~11.5 grams
Just another way to carry your keys...
What is the difference in Color?
What size wrenches are in the Mini WTF?
Standard: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2"
Metric: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 11mm, 13mm
Is that a built in Pry-Bar?
You bet! You never know when you will need it to cut open a box, use as a screwdriver, or pry open the tab of a cold beverage. You will find so many Fingernail saving (even cleaning your fingernails) ways to use the Pry-Bar I could never name them all. :)
Suggestions for the Mini from current backers:
-Biking, Backpacking, Emergency chisel/glass breaker, Staple Puller, Box Cutter, Zipper Pull, Key Holder, Kubaton, Airport Safe Defense tool.
Do you have an EDC?
What are those dimples on the sides, is it a ruler?
Yep, one side is Standard 1/4" increments, and the other is a Metric 1cm increment, the dimples also act as grip.
How "Mini" is Mini in inches?
Can I use it as a Gear Tie?
Sure can! It's easy to install and cinches down nicely. Due to the current edges of the Mini WTF the Paracord snaps around 200lbs as tied in this picture, but that could be my old cheap Paracord aswell. There was no damage to the Mini WTF at all, but I would definitely do more testing to be sure (Kids don't try this at home testing) and hopefully get a safe limit to put on this, more than likely I will end up with around a 3:1 Safety Limit, or about 65lbs. Not bad for an after-thought. :)
How strong are the Different Metals?
Aluminum 6061-T6 - Ultimate Tensile Strength is 45,000 psi and an elasticity modulus of 10,000 ksi (Soft)
Titanium Ti-6Al-4V - Ultimate Tensile Strength is 138,000 psi and an elasticity modulus of 16,500 ksi (Springy)
Chromoly 4130 - Ultimate Tensile Strength - 97,200 psi but has an elasticity modulus of 29,700 ksi or as Mike Bond would say, "That's one stiff WTF"
The aluminum version I would consider for "light duty" use ONLY.
How much torque can you put on the Mini Ti WTF?
It is very handy to snug up bolts, but due to it's small size, it limits the torque you can physically put on a bolt. I've tested the Mini Ti WTF using a torque wrench set to 4ft lbs, it's harder than it sounds. 4ft lbs is tight enough for emergency use on any size bolt that fits in it.
$10K Stretch Goal
1 Stainless Cable Keyring for EVERY Backer! Thank you!
$25K Stretch Goal
How about a LARGE open style WTF? With it's lightning fast bolt sizing you will never go back to a normal wrench again, it adds 9/16" & 5/8" and 15mm & 17mm. It also has a neodymium magnet so you can stick it in the back of your truck or to the side of your tool box and never be without it. There is also a built in 1/4" bit holder. The Large WTF will hold over 25' of 550 Paracord, who doesn't love Paracord?

My Story & My Goal
It all started with my Bottle Grenade project, and that project helped me buy a better CNC Mill for my garage to accommodate my ideas so I can share them with you. As promised, here I am! :) So I'm here today to share with you my latest idea that is made exclusively on that new Tormach PCNC 1100 Mill. (Thanks again to all of my Bottle Grenade backers!) One thing I learned from the Bottle Grenade project is that everyone was in need of Metric or Standard, so this time I combined them. :)
So what am I going to do if this project is successful and I reach my $2,500 Goal?? Well.. I'm going to buy a larger lathe than I currently have. I will CNC it myself to save some money, plus it will be a great learning experience. I will then be able to be right back here with all of you, with a new project made on that new CNC Lathe. I have alot of ideas floating around on what I could do, but we have plenty of time yet.

Risks and challenges
"What are the risks and challenges that come with completing your project, and how are you qualified to overcome them?"
I have learned alot from my previous project the "Bottle Grenade", while that project was like riding a roller coaster due to the many changes that had to be done to accommodate the popularity of the project, I don't see any challenges with this project, I came prepared this time. I've learned alot from that project and will make this as simple as I can, and manage it well. I have quotes for material ready, I have some material on hand, and am ready to start making these so I don't fall behind if this takes off like the last project. Feel free to check out my Bottle Grenade project to see what I'm all about, and how I treat each and every backer. :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
