A father, two sons, and a 100 year legacy: this is Tacky Branch Vineyard. Together, our dream is to start a sustainably farmed, organic vineyard, fed by the same natural spring that has run through this untouched piece of our family's land for over a century. With your support we can make that dream a reality.
This completely virgin soil has never been touched by building development, crops, nor chemical pesticides. We will be implementing organic and sustainable biodynamic farming methods to preserve the purity of the land, leaving the smallest carbon footprint possible, and producing the most natural grapes for good wine.

-Create a family-owned vineyard using sustainable, organic, and natural biodynamic farming techniques using locally sourced materials to produce excellent quality grapes for wine.
-Implement an eco-friendly, solar-powered irrigation system utilizing the natural spring water from Tacky Branch.
-Begin immediate wine production using a contract winery and local vendors for bottles, labels, and corks to put Tacky Branch Wine in your local shop, generating revenue while the vineyard is growing.
-Help boost the local economy and tourism of a small North Carolina town our family has been a part of for generations.

Four generations of our family have lived on this land, enjoying it's beauty and tranquility by the cool waters of Tacky Branch. With each generation has come a great sense of community support. Earlier generations supplied the community with fresh produce, farm fresh meats, and jobs at the family-run supermarket, often hosting giveaways for free groceries and new cars.
The supermarket has long since closed and a majority of the textile industry that drove Eden's economy has shut down. With this vineyard on the family land that remains, we hope to help nourish the local community, like our family before us.

Your generous donations will go towards our basic start-up costs such as purchasing bottles, corks and labels to produce wine through the contract winery, as well as the wholesale licensing fees required to put our product into stores.
You are also helping supply vital materials, including but not limited to a tractor, locally sourced organic fertilizers to prepare the soil before we plant the vines, posts and wire to establish the rows, along with irrigation lines and solar panels used to power the pumps that distribute water from the spring. With a stretch goal of $150,000 we can plant more vines and expand distribution.
Most importantly, by donating to Tacky Branch Vineyard you will be helping our local community by providing jobs and revenue to local businesses.
Risks and challenges
We have done our best to mitigate the risks and challenges for this project.
We have gathered extensive research and figures for sourcing our materials locally as well as buyers for the grapes and a contract winery to bottle our wine.
We have gathered information for all necessary applications and licenses to start immediate production as well as distributors for releasing Tacky Branch Wine after successful funding. We have a production schedule and are confident in our suppliers and vendors for manufacturing and distribution.
We have already had soil samples tested and contacted local organic fertilizer suppliers. Upon successful funding, we are ready for immediate preparation of the land this fall for planting vines and posts early next spring. There are inherent risks of delay, mainly seasonal and unforeseeable weather, as with any agricultural endeavor.
In regards to rewards, we have sourced all vendors and manufacturers and they are standing by for all quantities and sizes. We will have everything completed and on it's way to your front door by December of this year, just in time for the holidays!
