About this project
Extremely easy to play, this game is suitable for both beginners and expert gamers. The aim is to earn as much money as possible. You earn money through selling jewels. You can craft jewels using the gems you buy from different merchants and you can buy gems travelling through Marylia encountering many adventures along the way.
Marylia is a fantastic kingdom, crowded and exciting, there are rich nobles, merchants, mercenaries and even monsters. Everyone has his own role, and every character can help you as well as hinder you. Gemstones merchants hunger for more and more gems, bargaining the best prices in their deals. The vain nobles desire to wear even more finely-crafted jewels. On your path, you will meet mercenaries, magicians and monsters. Everyone has his own abilities and his own way to be approached. Every character could be the right tool to claim victory. Be clever, be the richest.
Be ready to celebrate when coins start dropping from the sky like a joyful rain! It’s the Spring Feast, when everyone earn extra actions! Or be patient and plot your next move during the Snowstorm. The events are unforeseeable, and you should try to use them at your advantage.
Gold and gems are your core business. Buy them, shape them and craft them into amazing jewels.
At the start of the game the cards are placed in two rows, Characters and Gems, for a total of seven columns. Each column represents a City. Every city has two slots one for a Character one for a Resource.
Every Player starts with three Gem Cards and 25 Coins.
The goal is to become the richest merchant by hoarding as much Coins as possible. Each Player earns Coins by selling crafted Gems and Jewels. The game is divided in Turns, every Turn is completed when each Player completes his Round.
There are three types of cards: Events, Gems and Characters.
Events may be unleashed at the start of the Turn, they can be a burden, by impeding the Players movement, or favor them, by giving them bonuses.
Gems and Gold can be bought in Cities and are necessary to craft Jewels that can be sold to Buyers.
Characters can be met in every City.
They can be Buyers, willing to buy your Gems and Jewels.
Mercenaries, that will offer their services to those willing to pay.
Monsters, evil creatures that will assault a City stealing its Gem and returning it only when defeated.
During his Round a Player can execute three Actions from a list of six:
- Travel to another City
- Buy Gems or Gold
- Craft Jewels or Gems
- Interact with a Character: Sell a Jewel or a Gem, hire a Mercenary or fight a Monster
- Refill City slots if empty
- Earn a Coin
The Player can travel between the columns, representing Cities. Travelling between Cities costs Coins.
The Player can buy a Gem from his actual City and add it to his hand.
Before a Jewel or a Gem can be sold, the Player has to spend a crafting action to shape it. To craft a Jewel the Player needs also the right combination of Gems and Gold. So each Player has always a round to plot something against the seller.
Selling a Jewel or a Gem to a Buyer means discard it and earn its value in Coins. Mercenaries and Monsters can hinder or favor the Players. After a Player interacts with any Character, the card is added to the discard pile.
At the beginning of each turn the Cities are repopulated with new Characters and Gems. In this moment many Events can happen.
The game ends when a City can’t be refilled at the start of the Turn. The Player with most Coins wins the game.

This GIF shows you a fast back and forth between two of the most experienced beta tester of the game, one travelling through the Kingdom to Buy the necessary Resources to Craft a new Jewel and the other trying to hinder his profits by assassinating certain Buyers.
Those are just some of the strategies you can follow in Jewels but many more are viable to become the richest merchant.
This video shows you a fast back and forth between two of the most experienced beta tester of the game, one trying to sell his freshly crafted Jewel and the other trying to hinder his profits. Those are just some of the strategies you can follow in Jewels.
If you want a clearer view of the game you can always read the rules, this is just one of the first drafts and minor things might be changed.

Risks and challenges
Game production wasn’t in E9solutions business plan! However, everytime we meet after work, we end up playing games or talking about games. We work very close to game companies, producing management softwares and other stuff, so the idea grew organically. Omar, the game designer has a games shop and he is deeply passionate about it. This is how Jewels was born!
This is our first attempt at manufacturing a card game. We've got a printer and manufacturing facility picked out and we have the basics of the game designed. We also play tested by a selection of gamers, but we want to ensure the playability of Jewels and we intend to incorporate more beta players as soon as we make the target goal. Each deck should have 154 cards, and we have in mind all the characters, their role in the game and their game’s features, but we need to produce more artworks. Also printing required some weeks, so due to this the anticipated ship date is an estimate only. Updates will inform backers on any extra time needed for beta testing and production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
