My name is Alex, designer at TruthStudio, and I'd like your help to create a second series of unique posters, which visualise soundwaves generated by some of my favourite musicians. Like last year's prints each track is crafted by hand, silkscreen printed onto a range of weighty stocks by GF Smith, then signed and numbered by me. Each bar is individually drawn: no automated tracing is used.
Silkscreen printing is a traditional, versatile technique that uses mesh to create a stencil for artists to print their work onto almost any surface. Ink is 'pushed' through the stencil by hand using a squeegee, leaving a beautiful finish. The printer I use, I Dress Myself, minimise the use of natural resources and were the first screen printers in the UK to use 100% solvent-free water-based inks for paper and garment printing. They source products from companies with robust ethical standards.
Strictly limited edition.
The earlier you back the project, the earlier your edition will be. Most prints come in editions of 25; some prints are in editions of 100. Get in fast though: once the Kickstarter ends, these posters will never be reprinted at the same size.
Spread the word.
I can only pull this off with your help. Please spread the word on Twitter – follow me @Szabo_Haslam, share on Facebook, and post on any blogs you come across. Regular updates will be posted on my Tumblr, Pinterest, Google+, Behance, and Dribbble for you to share.
Risks and challenges
I have lots of experience working with printers and great care is taken to make sure each print is of the highest quality. This is my second Kickstarter campaign and I do not expect any major issues to arise.
I do not supply frames. A2 is a standard size and most independent picture framers stock them in a variety of finishes.
Please note: I do everything possible to ensure overseas orders arrive in a timely manner, but I've encountered problems with Australian orders taking up to six weeks to arrive. I track all orders and will provide details upon request.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Although I will do my best to fulfil all orders, my printer specifies a minimum number of posters for each design. As a last resort, I may choose not to produce any given poster if sales do not cover production costs. In this case, I'll do my best to find a solution:
1 - ask you to choose an alternative
2 - offer a partial refund (if you've bought more than one print)
3 - offer a full refund, if we can't agree on the above
Under no circumstances will you be forced to choose a print you don't want.
Prints are delivered in the order each pledge was made. Unfortunately I cannot offer a choice of numbers: I've tried this once before and it's a logistical nightmare!
Most posters will be numbered 1 to 10, or 1 to 25. Some poster editions will be larger, to a maximum size of 100.
