Too often women suffer through the pain shoes cause them because they make them look or feel a certain way. Women shouldn't have to compromise comfort for style, or compromise confidence for comfort. We developed the solution so women could have the best of both worlds. Our shoes have removable heels so you can transform a high heel stiletto into a chunky mid-heel or even go all the way flat. The possibilities are endless! We want to provide women with flexibility to adjust their heel height on a whim. Women everywhere have suffered too long. Don't switch shoes, just switch your heels!
Brad and Linda were at a wedding. At the end of the night they noticed that all the women were walking barefoot and carrying their high heel shoes. They said there is a problem that needs to be fixed. They went home and Brad started drawing. Brad is an Architectural designer by trade, so he used this background to come with some ideas. He went to Home Depot and got a door hinge. Linda got a high heel shoe. Brad cut the shoe apart and put in the door hinge. This was their first prototype and the beginning of Switcheels.
Over the years Brad and Linda scrimped and saved for each prototype until finally they perfected it. As time went on Brad's daughter Briana got older and became more involved with the idea and helped grow Switcheels into a startup business. She represented Switcheels on Steve Harvey's Funderdome and continues to help with Social Media and Marketing. This family team has put so much blood sweat and tears into this product. Each prototype is a new victory and each opportunity is a new hope. Now being so close to production, there is nothing this team wont do to make sure this product is a success.
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is building our molds for mass production. Currently, each prototype costs a lot and we need to get that cost down in order to appeal to the mass market. We are testing different manufacturers and shoe designers to find the best quality materials for our shoes.
The funding we won on Steve Harvey’s funderdome only got us halfway to where we need to be for our production molds. Every paycheck we have goes to marketing, prototypes, and testing. We are ready for the next step in production. The risks involved with trying new manufactures can be hard to conquer. We are confident in the prospects we have been in contact with and look forward to trying more styles!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
