It goes without saying the main box will state both outlets are controllable and provide independent energy monitoring. The feature that will push this outlet forward hands down is Alexa speaker integration where it can connect via WiFi, BLE, Z-Wave.
The next important one's are the camera, access point, speaker.
Enough of the night light, aromatherapy, motion light, these are existing products on the market today which are dollar store features!! It's 2018, not 1986 so enough with the night light stuff and push forward with technology trends that will make a difference and SELL.
The main driving point is to focus upon the ability to swap out inserts to add capability. As noted in the past by default every outlet should have been WiFi enabled. One should not have to trade off a Home Automation protocol to obtain WiFi.
There isn't a product like this that offers dual communications and this is something your team missed the boat on. On the same mindset the outlet should have incorporated a small piezeo beeper and status LED.
Just these two basic components would have added a wealth of information and use cases over the long run. Lastly, when can the backers expect to see the API for integration of the product??
@kevin Lee: Hey! We aren’t planning to ship the rewards until late September, so you won’t receive your Swidget until then. Before we ship, we’ll send out an email to ensure we have the right address and/or to allow you to change your shipping address. So, you can change it then.
I'd say for the prominent feature on the packaging it should be Outlet Control as that is what initially got me onboard with the product. Thanks! Keep up the great work.
I am planning on moving in about a month... do you think I will receive my order before then? Sincerely Kevin Lee firstname.lastname@example.org
