Currently we only have the Swidget developed for North American standards (120V). As our community grows and the demand increases for other countries, we would love to expand our products by manufacturing additional versions.
The first version of the Swidget Wifi Control inserts is not currently compatible with Apple HomeKit, but we are working on an insert that is compatible. We anticipate it will be ready by the time the rewards for this project ship (May/June of 2018). However, it is a priority for us and we hope it will be ready sooner.
Swidget is compatible with most common systems that run on WiFi or Z-Wave today, however, we are expanding rapidly to include the ZigBee protocol as well. The current systems include Google Home, Nest, Stringify, IFTTT,
Yes, absolutely. When the campaign closes you'll be able to purchase additional outlets, inserts, etc. on our www.swidget.com site. We will launch the e-commerce portion of the site in the fall of this year.
Certainly child safety was top of our list when we designed Swidget. Each electrical outlet has built-in tamper resistant shutters, as is now standard for electrical outlets. As for the insert cavity, it’s as safe as a USB port – designed specifically so that there are no high voltages or unsafe connections inside the cavity.
