Sweet Teeth. We are a young couple living in Toronto, Ontario. In everything we do, we believe in thinking differently, challenging the norm, and making an impact.
We do this by offering an opportunity to do good with your dollar. We offer a product that produces less waste and harmful emissions, contains fewer processed ingredients, and reduces the harm done to the animals we share the planet with.
We just happen to sell gourmet waffles and dairy-free desserts. Want one?
Our entire menu is produced using practices that have the least effect on the environment. Our entire mobile kitchen is powered by electricity rather than traditional propane. We have also made a commitment to compost, using only top quality biodegradable takeout packaging and sorting all waste that we produce. We want to make sure as little as possible makes it to the land fill. We are also eliminating all animal products from our menu which drastically lowers harm to the planet. Animal agriculture is the number one cause of deforestation and climate change, so it just made sense to give that up.
Just because we sell desserts it doesn't mean they aren't healthy. Our entire menu is made from scratch, this means our products are jam packed with nutritious plant based food. We use ingredients that we would be proud to serve our family, some staples include organic fruit, wholegrain oats, nut milk, and raw cacao. Our waffle batter follows a basic recipe with absolutely no cholesterol, no saturated fat, and no cruelty!!
Being a strictly vegan food truck we bring values back into the picture. So many companies these days only think about profit, and completely disregard compassion. Our biggest mission with this venture is to reduce the suffering of animals and demonstrate that peace starts on your plate.
We've always been into good music; folk, hip hop, dance music, you name it and we'll dance to it! Last summer we went to our first festival after becoming vegan. While there were a few options, they were all the same old fried potatoes or rice..boring! We wanted something tasty, healthy, and new. Food that has vibrancy and is going to make us boogie! This got us to thinking, there must be lots of other people here that want a better option. Everyone wants a happy tummy. Soon the festival was over and our busy plans brushed the notion to the side.
A few months later, while traveling across the country, we found ourselves revisiting the idea in a little coffee shop in Vancouver. It was here that we spent countless hours brainstorming. How could we bring healthy and fun food to people, while keeping our sense of adventure alive?
A FOOD TRUCK!
Inspired by what we learned from other vegan businesses, and the nature we had immersed ourselves in over the six months we spent travelling, a few things were clear. Being cruelty free, eco-friendly, and tasty are the top priorities. We want to show the world the power of vegan! With support and advice from close friends and family, we decided to carry out the plan. Now all we need is you!
We are reaching out to you to help raise funds to get this project on the road. We've got the ideas, we've got the know-how, we just need your help to get things moving. By donating funds, you can help make this dream a reality. Your money will be used to purchase equipment and get the truck wrapped, so we can get our delicious desserts to you efficiently and in style.
Equipment: The biggest equipment expenses we need to secure are the waffle irons, and an ice cream machine. These will be the bread and vegan butter of our operation.
Truck Wrap: Our resident designer has worked out a killer wrap already. We need to get it printed real big, and pop it on the trailer. Nobody wants to buy food from a dingy white box.
Permits and legal stuff: Like everyone, we have to abide by certain regulations. There are a number of permits necessary to sell in Toronto. These funds will help us secure our Mobile Food Vending Permit, and Motorized Refreshment Vehicle Owner and Assistant's licences.
Any extra funds raised through Kickstarter will go towards our first month's inventory, marketing material (menus, to-go packaging, etc.), and our repairs fund, because sometimes shit happens.
We've been as smart as we can when running the numbers for startup costs. We are prepared for the best and the worst case scenario, and both ready to do some major hard work as this journey continues to unfold. Those of you who know us personally know that, despite our age, we are passionate, motivated, and willing to do whatever it takes to get this thing on the road. When we make the decision to do something, we get it done!
Remember, if we don't make our goal, we don't get a thing!
Tazmin is a digital and visual artist, with flowing dreadlocks, and an affinity for vegan food! Crystals, painting, yoga, animals, music and sunny days by the water make her thrive.

Risks and challenges
Of course every project has its obstacles; legal, financial, operational, the list of issues that can come up when starting a food service venture are endless. While we are still working on major financing from banks, and straightening out our personal contributions, we need the continuing support from friends, family, and the amazing community we know is out there. We're passionate about this campaign, and it's all or nothing. Let's work together to bring peace back to your plate.
With love to you all,
