• $24,000 Stretch Goal Achieved! Your Sweet & Lucky experience will end in an exclusive post-show bar run by Williams & Graham that can only be accessed by going through the immersive show. This replica of a 150 year-old bar was crafted by 10 DCPA artisans and took more than 500 hours to design and build. It is the perfect canvas for Sean Kenyon and his team of mixologists from Williams & Graham to create your post-show cocktails.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Transport yourself to a world where the past and present combine in the dreamlike encounters of Sweet & Lucky. Join us on a soft, stumbling last dance through a warehouse of memory.

Sweet & Lucky invites you to step into a mysterious antique store and plunge into a labyrinth of dreamlike encounters where memories, recollections, and fragments of time and place begin to tangle to create the unexpected map of a person's life.

You will follow performers through intricately designed environments, into intimate engagements, and witness a series of seductive and haunting flashbacks. It's a 360-degree experience that uses all five senses to evoke the power (and fragility) of memories. Dive deeper into the story by exploring the props and scenery, and enjoy specialty cocktails before and after the show crafted by award-winning mixologist Sean Kenyon from Williams & Graham.

Off-Center (the DCPA’s line of non-traditional programming) is teaming up with New York’s Third Rail Projects to create an immersive experience on a scale larger than anything Denver has ever seen.

We've been developing and creating this production with local performers, designers and artisans. It will be one of Third Rail Projects’ most recent efforts since The Grand Paradise and their award-winning Then She Fell, which has been playing sold-out shows in Brooklyn for the past three years.

Sweet & Lucky is set to premiere this coming May in Denver and will be Off-Center's most ambitious project to date: a two-hour performance through a sprawling 16,000-square-foot space, where you will explore a collection of memories that evolve as you interact with them. Inside spaces large and small, you’ll dive deeper into the story and actually become a part of it.

We need your help bring to this production across the finish line. We have our warehouse space thanks to the Westfield Company, our partners who are in the middle of an exciting redevelopment on Brighton Boulevard. We have the people and the plan. We just need you.

Off-Center and Third Rail Projects have been collaborating on Sweet & Lucky for over a year. As we enter the final phase of production development, we have much of the support that we need to make it to our premiere. But, in order to accomplish some of the biggest ideas we have for the show, we need your help.

Funds raised on Kickstarter will enable us to fully realize intricate designs for dozens of unique environments. We’re asking for $1 per square foot to go directly to the design elements that will elevate our warehouse to a fully immersive world. We want every object to be intentional, every element to take you deeper into the story. With this depth of detail, you will be able to discover hidden secrets and unravel the complex stories that lie under the surface.

Risks and challenges

There’s a big difference between completing our production and completing our vision. The project will happen either way, but without backers like you, the experience will need to be scaled back and the world we’re trying to create won’t feel as full. We want to take this project to its full potential and ensure that we can create the most vital elements of our story.
