Down by Kontact is a graphic novel inspired by George Romero's Night of the Living Dead, and a modern take on the Pre-Code horror films of the 1930's.
Down by Kontact is adapted from a screenplay written by Matthew Myers, horror journalist and writer for TheBlood-Shed, and Attack From Planet B. The Illustrator of this project is Dixie Filloy, the talented owner of Dr. Eff Designs and daughter of legendary animator Arthur Filloy.
Down by Kontact is a period piece that takes place in 1996. It follows four inebriated friends who are planning to dominate a tournament at their local arcade. They soon find themselves in a terrifying nightmare being stalked by the undead, struggling to survive, and protecting a young girl.
With a methodical and creepy story, combined with an unsettling Hitchcock style subplot, Down by Kontact is set to take readers on a very dark ride.
Where We Are
Dixie has been moving at a faster than expected rate. Her love of horror and talent is really shining through, and watching this story come to life has been an incredible experience. We are projecting a digital release in December. The printed copies will be available in January. We are independently distributing the graphic novel on our website which is now active at www.downbykontact.com so be sure to check it out.

Risks and challenges
I ran a previous campaign here on Kickstarter for this project and raised over $1,200 in 3 weeks. During the campaign my father passed away, I chose to cancel the campaign and re launch when I was able to be devoted to the project. Our only challenge is time, as of right now everything is going smoothly and we are on schedule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
