SATM Benefit Party
Greetings Friends -
Firstly, thank you for your contributions and for giving this important film your support at this critical stage.
I joined the team in 2017 for a few reasons. I love film — my firm has had the privilege of acting as production counsel on pictures ranging from Moonlight to Precious, Black Swan and Beasts of the Southern Wild. I worked with director Jyllian Gunther on her last feature film, The New Public, and am directly familiar with her talents as a director and storyteller… And of course, there is the beautiful and poignant love story between Junior and Gloria. On the personal front, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2012 and I experienced firsthand the impact of the diseases - both on my mother and her loved ones. My mother passed away in 2015. The film team is addressing an issue that is very important to me in a manner that promises to be compelling, elegiac storytelling. I’m delighted to be a part of it.
We are now at another critical financial juncture for the film. Melissa Neidich, our wonderfully talented editor, has screened hundreds of hours of footage already shot, and has begun to weave together our story. However, funds have diminished and we are seeking funding to support the edit over the next 6-8 months.
To help facilitate, I’m hosting a benefit party on behalf of Sunset and the Mockingbird on December 5th at our offices in NYC. I’d love to welcome all the film’s Kickstarter backers who will be in town to attend. We’ll have food, drinks, live jazz, sneak peeks of the film, and a chance to meet Gloria and members of the film team. The invite is below — please RSVP!
Looking forward to seeing you here…
Jonathan Gray, Executive Producer
