"As with most new products, it has taken more time and money than expected. Currently, we are raising more funds from our first investors to complete the first run of the product and you will receive your Sunscreenr soon."
Pathetic update! No information at all really! Just told to keep waiting with no dates! Couldn't even give a date for when the survey to be released! I thought this product was ready for production?
I bet we won't be getting this in time for summer!! Really poor communication!!!!!
Another couple of weeks without any news. Shipping should start "soon" but we yet didn't see the final product, not a single picture of it. No official update since January!
in a few weeks, everything is in a few weeks away... In April you told us that we'll be receiving an update "in the coming weeks." twice. No update since January, and almost a month has passed. June is near and no sight of the survey/form for the shipping address, no update, no information, no nothing,... this is the reason I don't back any more projects on KS.
Hi Henry,
We are hard at work getting your Sunscreenr ready to ship. Shipping is scheduled to begin in June. You will receive a more detailed update in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the inquiries. We are hard at work getting your Sunscreenr ready to ship. Shipping will begin in June. You will receive a more detailed update in the coming weeks.
This project represents the problem with Kickstarter: those who pledge have no recourse and are at the mercy of the creator for anything; including timely communication. Credit card companies don't allow disputes after 60 days from charges.
Congrats Dave Cohen! This project (which I backed about a year ago now) is the reason I don't back many Kickstarter projects anymore and especially those without a track record for delivery.
Agreed that it's about time for an update but according to the last update we should get one soon. Honestly I don't back things on KS expecting to get it on time. It's an investment not a purchase. Although I did respond to every email I received on the campaign I ran. I'm looking forward to the upcoming update and knowing our current status.
It's indeed so terrible to back a project and have no response at all by the "team".... i sent as well an email, with no response at all and from what i can read, im not alone: we've sponsored the project, gave our money, trusted their word, and still we dont get any update at all..... Real bad attitude, Dave Cohen.
I would so appreciate a response. I have sent in numerous emails over the past few months asking for a refund. To not get a word from anyone is very worrisome and I have lost faith in this company and Kickstarter in general. You needed our help and backing financially and now you have left us high and dry. I feel totally ripped off and taken advantage of. Refund requested please!!!!!
@creator I am not too far from Chapel Hill NC and drive by for work at times. I can pick mine up anytime or maybe be good to drop by and see if your really working on these at all.
Updates take up to much time? A Comment/update will interfere with production? That isn't really a serious comment to status requests is it? business is going to be tough for this brand. it's a Great concept and delays are going to happen but communications with your consumers are the primary advertising tool exiting this project.
@_CONEJO We don't necessarily need a lengthy ten-page update... just a quick paragraph saying "hey this is where we're at, this is how things are looking" would be fine.
Fellow Kickstarters, you absolutely have first priority when we start shipping Sunscreenr!! We were slow to update the website and that's why some of you might have been confused. We are incredibly grateful for your interest in and support of Sunscreenr and we know that it wouldn't bve coming to life without your support. In fact, because Sunscreenr was such a hit on KS it got the attention of the Discovery Channel. As a result, you may have seen Sunscreenr on Outrageous Acts of Science this past week. If you missed it Sunscreenr is #6 in the countdown in Episode #4 (Season #7).
That's why i love kickstarter so much, you "help" some project get to life hoping that you'll get the product in the end. when they get funded they have zero accountability toward the backers and they ignore us. yet we keep funding projects.
No good deed ever goes unpunished...
I have sent numerous emails to the creator of this campaign. I have sent them here and to the project's new website. No one has given me the courtesy of a reply. I am very disappointed by the lack of communication from this campaign and I would like it if my pledge could be refunded.
Mr Cohen, I understand that swapping out components sometimes has a waterfall effect on the rest of the product BUT we would like to know how you are doing. Has there been any change in the 4 month slide in delivery. Have you discovered any other issues that potentially might impact product roll-out? I think everyone understands that #$%^ happens when designing and manufacturing a new product but what we don't understand is the length of time between updates. Please remember that Kickstarter is a blind trust kinda thing. We are hoping/betting on the good nature of people to do/deliver on what they promise. All we ask in return is a few words every week telling us of progress/roadblocks/delays encounter. Please consider being more forthcoming with your updates,
Regards,
George
