Thanks for coming by the "MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE BY SAVING SUNBEARS!" kickstarter! Below you can read all about SUNBEARS! new project and check out some cool rewards! yeah!
When SUNBEARS! first started talking about recording a new record, we had originally planned on doing it all at the house, all grungy and dirty... And so we started recording the songs. But once we had finished nearly all of them, we felt as though they were just, really good DEMOS. We started all scratching our heads at that point and decided that we needed to make sure that we're stepping forward with our tunes and not just stagnating, you know. And so we sat down and started coming up with a plan to record our next album. At that time we called up our good friend, Jeremy S. H. Griffith (who has always played a big part in SUNBEARS! production and recording), to get him on aboard with us again. Jeremy was stationed in Atlanta around then, but is soon moving to New York City to set up shop in his new 5th floor studio (Singing Serpent Studios) in Soho (which is why in our kickstarter video, Jonathan says, "Atlanta" and not "New York City," but no big deal, right?).
And so, here's our plan...
WITH YOUR WILD AND CRAZY GENEROSITY, In the month of March, we will be road tripping up to New York City to meet up with Jeremy S. H. Griffith at his Studio in Soho. During that time we'll be working and reworking and reworking again, all of the jams that we have prepared for this record. We're going to bring in some friends of ours from other bands to play various instruments on the album as well! We'll be spending about 3-4 weeks up there tracking and hopefully getting started on the mixes. After the Mix process is finished we'll be sending the whole deal off to T.W. Walsh (Sufjan Stevens, Mates of State, Ra Ra Riot, Dave Bazan, and SUNBEARS!) for mastering.
During that time, MacTruque will be jamming the songs and creating original artwork for the album. When we get home, we'll be connecting with Mac, and going over everything with him... taking photos of the art, dropping it all in and designing it.
When it's all said and done, you should be getting your hot little hands on the new SUNBEARS! album in no time!
but don't forget...
SUNBEARS! IS PROUD TO BE 100% INDEPENDENT!
It's all because of people like YOU, of whom love supporting truly independent music, that make SUNBEARS! really thrive! YAY!

All of your money and support will be SOLEY funding our next album. Now, some of you might ask, "What does it take to make an album? What is my money going to be paying for exactly?" Here are some examples!
To make a good Rock and Roll album, these things are required:
Travel for the band!
Housing for the Band!
Food for the Band!
Time at a good studio (We're going to be spending roughly 3-4 weeks in NYC at Singing Serpent Studios)!
Time with an awesome studio engineer (Jeremy S. H. Griffith, FTW)!
Time with a fantastic producer (Griffith for the double play)!
A really sick mix engineer (Griffith, makin' his way to third base)!
A mastering engineer who understands your music and wants to bring out the best in it (We love T.W. Walsh: Sufjan Stevens, Mates of State, Ra Ra Riot, Dave Bazan, and SUNBEARS!)!
Compact Disc pressing and duplication!
Vinyl Record pressing and duplication!
Original Album Artwork (We'll be working again with local Jacksonville, FL abstract and folk artist, MacTruque)!
Artwork printing and duplication!
Printing, Screening, and Pressing all kinds of cool Promo Material!
So your generosity is MORE than appreciated! Even one dollar helps get this music out and around this planet! The more that you help fund this album, the more cool and freaky things we get to do! All of which will directly affect you! We want you to be proud of your investment! But remember, if we don't reach our goal... everything goes away! So share this page with all of your friends that love music!
Thanks a ton for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for your contribution!
