UPDATE: Yay! We reached the funding goal! Now, If we can raise the $669 needed to reach a new goal of $7000 within the next 24 hours, I'll release this song too! Here's a snippet of the unfinished cover song/video Julean Rai and I worked on this past summer, but were unable to finish because of lack of money.
Many parts need to be re-recorded, then mixed and mastered, but I think our version has the potential to be really great! The song is "Pills" written and originally recorded by The Perishers. Fingers crossed! Thanks for everything so far!!! Summer XO
So, there are these six songs of mine that I'm going to release as the "Hello World" EP. They are completely written and ready to go. Each song even has a music video already shot and roughly edited!
Through generous donations from a few kind people, half of the songs are recorded, professionally produced, and ready to be released. But the final three still need audio production, mixing, mastering - all the special stuff that makes a song sound super sweet, like when you hear it on the radio.
In no particular order, the songs that still need to be finished are:

What does it mean when I say the remaining three "Hello World" EP songs need audio production? Audio production refers to when a music producer helps decide what the songs will sound like in recorded version, what tone will they have, what additional instrumentation they should have besides just my guitar or piano, etc. The producer oversees the recording process as well. All this costs about $2000 per song, including the final mixing and mastering.
The breakdown generally comes out to $1000 for the producer, $300 for studio musicians, $500 for mixing and $200 for mastering. For an independent artist like myself, it's not cheap, but it's totally worth it.
I really hope you want to help, even just spreading the word. I love my songs, and my paintings, and I hope you do, too!
Risks and challenges
The only complicating factor to having these songs produced is that I haven't chosen the producers yet, so I may be at the mercy of their individual schedules. This is the reason I chose a reasonable deadline of September 2014. Otherwise, I'm more than ready to go on this!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
