At long last...

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year! I am very excited to be back in touch with you. I apologize it has taken so long. Who knew how many hurdles there are in publishing your first photography book?

To make a long story short, my original publisher folded, and I spent quite a bit of 2012 and 2013 disentangling myself from them and shopping around for a new publisher that shared my care for craft and interest in distribution to audiences in Ethiopia as well as elsewhere. (Don’t worry, this episode did not affect the money that you all contributed on Kickstarter.)

In mid-2013, I met photographers Philipp Ebeling and Olivia Arthur, the co-founders of Fishbar, a respected young photography gallery and publisher based in London, England. Their photography books often address issues of social justice, and include some of the best emerging photographers in the field. I am very happy to announce that Fishbar will publish our Sudden Flowers book later this year. I am going to London in early February to finalize the design and the book should be on press in March. I will keep you all updated with the progress as we move along.

I want to thank you again for all of your support and patience through this process. I can't tell you how much it has meant to me. I look forward to sharing more news with you soon!

Eric
