Alpha release and Progress
It has been a while since we have posted a formal update, we are sorry about that. We have been trying to keep in touch through the comment section also fielding questions and requests as they came in. I am going to touch on some of what has been disclosed on there. If you want to see more in-depth explanations please check out the comments sections where there are blow by blow conversations. Development has been slow for a while now. You have probably ascertained this by the fact that you are not playing your own sweet copy of Dungeons right now. We deeply regret the lapse of time and delay in progress. There have been issues that crippled development such as loosing our sprite artist and new team members. Some problems were avoidable but much of it was just bad luck. No matter what has or will transpire we will fulfill our obligations to you our backers. It took us a couple of months to get a new sprite artist but we eventually had to let him go too because his style did not match our previous work. We will be producing a new update soon that addresses these issues in more depth. As a conciliatory offering we will be releasing playable alphas in the next couple of weeks. It will most likely be hosted on Desura. We will periodically update the Desura page to include new content. Though things have been rough we have continued to make progress on the game. John is creating the Dungeons engine as we go. Since this production lull occurred, he has written enough code that now programming will be in kit format. In addition, all of the audio has been edited, mixed, mastered and is ready for the game. Basically, progress is hinging on the acquisition of art assets. We recently have been receiving beautiful new sprites and so production has picked up again. So after this long exposition an attempt to elucidate the situation, we again would like to thank you for your support and continued patience. Expect a video with details and some teehees soon.
