Update #21: PayPal, Steam Greenlight, Flex Goals & Evil Laugh Winner

Hey folks,

Our update today will focus on PayPal, Flex Goals, Steam Greenlight, and our evil laugh contest winner.

PayPal is Live

We’re pleased to announce that you can now back War for the Overworld using PayPal. We’re currently limiting the rewards slightly and will have higher-tiers available in the near future. Head over to our website to pledge now! Stumpy will correctly show how much we’ve raised toward our Flex Goals as we head into these final few days — so keep an eye on him instead of the Kickstarter number.

Flex Goals

We’ve received a lot of feedback and a bit of concern regarding Flex Goals. First of all — we will continue to accept new backers after our Kickstarter campaign ends (via PayPal), these backers will directly contribute to the development of Flex Goals. We currently plan to continue development as long as we have the funds to do so. That said — we’re trying to get as much of an initial push as possible and hope that you’ll help us reach toward our Flex Goal milestones!

We also wanted to point out that certain Flex Goals will take less development time than others, which means we may have more development time to produce additional content! This is something we’ll discuss in great length when we near the end of the Bedrock Beta.

Steam Greenlight

We’re officially in the top 100 of Steam Greenlight! Thank you all for taking the time to vote for us! And if you haven’t already you can always click here to do so. We’re delighted that we reached the top 100 so quickly, thank you so much for the help! Also, while we have your attention feel free to vote for us on GOG.

Evil Laugh Contest Winner

The evil laugh contest proved to be a neck and neck race between Edison and Hello Kinky, but the final few votes tipped the balance in Edison’s favour. His fame is ensured throughout the annals of history, and we fully expect that his life will be sweet and easy from now until his (un)death. Perhaps he’ll favour us with a picture of him wearing his free WFTO T-shirt once he receives it! Thanks again for your wonderful submissions and participation in the voting process.

The laugh that gave us all nightmares...

And with that laugh, we'll be signing off for today.

Until next time Underlord,

- WFTO Team

@ A New Room : It will have the same tiers as on the KS page. It is temporarily only supporting up to £260 and the remaining tiers will be added soon.

@ iggii : The pre-alpha demo will most likely stay up until Bedrock Beta but will not be updated (beyond some bug fixes) as it is not using the game build. This was built solely for Kickstarter using very similar mechanics to what is going to be in the game. When Bedrock Beta goes live in March, anyone that has purchased a copy will be able to download the first build. From there, we will be releasing a new build every 1-2 weeks up until release in August.

Voted on greenlight and upped my pledge for another digital copy!
Will the alpha demo be available and updated till the beta comes out or will it be withdrawn when kickstarter shuts down? And how will be then update from beta to full done? Guys you make me wonder.

On the subject of PayPal, are there limited amounts of certain tiers like there are on this page?

Stumpy sure is dedicated... Working through Christmas and all. Or maybe he just fears too much more "encouragement"...
