WHY AM I MAKING THIS MOVIE?
The tragedy on 9/11, which I witnessed from the corner of 34th and Madison as I worked my shift as a doorman at Morgans Hotel, started me thinking about how tragedy can sideswipe even the most ordinary day. I choose to deal with the subject matter in very intimate family setting, crafting the script with the help of friends for the last 8 years. Less than a year ago, I decided that it was finally ready to be made into a movie. As I mentioned in the video my father (Russ Robbins) thought this was a story that needed to be told and he believed I was the only person to tell it. Last April, he passed away suddenly. It has become my "calling" to finish the film, as he would have wanted.
WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT THIS MOVIE?
I consider it sacred that you have entrusted me with some of your hard earned cash. I promise to do everything in my power to spend it wisely and effectively, as we make one of the best movies money can buy. Having worked many jobs in the entertainment industry over the past 20 years-everything from Producer, Director, Director's Assistant (for Rob Morrow on his feature film Maze starring Laura Linney), Production Assistant, Craft Service, Boom, and Transportation, I have amassed years of knowledge in all areas of filmaking. I've directed for the stage and have spent the last two years as an acting coach and teacher, among my 35 clients are television series regulars and studio film leads. My solid relationships in show business are allowing us to gather an incredibly talented cast and crew

HOW WE'LL SPEND THE MONEY- (approximately)
- $8,000 in crew salary
- $8,000 in cast salary
- $5,000 for travel expenses
- $6,000 for food
- $6,000 for props, wardrobe, equipment
- $1,000 office expenses
- $2,000 for car and van rentals
- $1,000 gas, tolls
- $3,000 for miscellaneous expenses (they always seem to pop up!)
The reason I am raising $20,000 is because I have 2 different potential investors that I feel confident will finance the remaining portion of the film. If we are one of the very fortunate Kickstarter campaigns that exceed our goal, we will gladly let them move on to other investment opportunities. Or we'll get to sleep in a cheap hotel bed instead of on a friend's couch. God Bless. Gratefully yours, Blake Robbins
