Nekomata-Chan, New Rewards & Add-Ons.

Konnichiwa! Back with another update at the start of the second week! We are just under 40% and yesterday you may have caught a mention of Rising Dusk in Team Cherry's latest Hollow Knight update! If you found this project through that update, thank you!

Today's update is covering a few things. First as promised I'm introducing a brand new character.

Bakeneko-Chan is a Miko (priestess) at a local temple. She's not your average cat however, she's a yokai known as a Bakeneko!

Her shrine, the Kin-Neko-ji, celebrates cats of all kinds. Specifically it houses a large number of Mankei Neko statues.

I guess this is what the Yokai do instead of watching Youtube...

But recently someone has snuck in and stolen almost every single one. Returning the Maneki Neko to the temple won't just make Bakeneko-chan happier, it'll also unlock more rooms of the temple. Solve the puzzle of each room and you'll unlock some cool things.

New Rewards

I'm adding some new rewards. These are for those of you that are fans of the art or music, but perhaps don't play games on a regular basis.

Canvas Art Prints. For AUD$150 you can get a canvas art print. There'll be several choices available ranging from promotional images (like the illustration in the Kickstarter Banner) to in-game art (pixel art vistas.) These canvas prints are high quality, light weight, and come ready to hang. Size is to be confirmed, and will vary based on image but expect something around 40cm x 40cm. Shipping is an additional AUD$15

This is an example and available artwork will vary.

The next 2 items are the same reward tier, and you'll be able to choose which one you want. Shipping is an additional AUD$10

Physical Soundtrack on CD. Still prefer to listen to your favourite tunes on a physical medium? Get a copy of the Official Rising Dusk Soundtrack on CD. This reward is AUD$75 and includes everything in the Beta Obake level.

Physical Soundtrack on Cassette. Get the Official Rising Dusk Soundtrack on a physical recreation of the in-game collectable cassette tape. This reward is also AUD$75 and includes everything in the Beta Obake level.

You could really have this, but in a less pixelated, and more physical form.

Add-Ons

Happy with your current selected reward but wanted something from another reward? Well I'm happy to tell you you can, here's how.

Extra Copy of the Game (AUD$5): If you've backed at AUD$5 or more, just add another $5 to your backing for an additional copy of the game. You can gift this version of the game to friends or family.

Physical Soundtrack (AUD$25): If you've backed at AUD$50 or more, just add another $25 (plus $10 for shipping if needed) to your backing for a copy of the soundtrack on your choice of CD or cassette.

Canvas Art Print (AUD$50): If you've backed at AUD$100 or more, just add another $50 (plus $15 for shipping if needed) to your backing for Canvas Art Print.

How do you add more money to your backing? Follow this handy guide.

1. Click on the "Manage your pledge" Button at the top of the page.

2. On the next screen click the "Change your pledge" button.

3. Add the additional amount to the "Pledge Amount", however don't change your reward tier! In the example below the person wants an additional CD, so they would add an extra $25.

 4. Finally confirm the changes.

After all this is done at the end of the campaign I'll be reaching out to you to confirm these changes.

Other Kickstarter campaigns

A quick shout-out to 2 other Australian Kickstarter campaigns. Brief Battles and Desert Child are look great, have some great rewards, excellent gameplay and are both in their final week. Check them out by clicking on their titles.

That's it for today but check back tomorrow for another new character, this time a playable one. Excited about the physical rewards? Or Bakeneko-chan? Leave a comment below.
