Day 20 - 500 backers, #28 and 10 000 votes on Steam Greenlight votes + new demo
Hey Backers :)
More than 500 individuals contributed to the campaign so far, raising more than $20 000 in 20 days! We want to thank you all for your support :D. If this whole thing succeeds, it's because every single one of you exist and decided to support the project!
We spent the last week working days and night on the new demo and now that it's done, we are going to focus on promoting the title everywhere!
Here are some various updates:
Kôna is now #28 on Steam Greenlight with 10 134 positive votes! It's becoming clear that if we are not selected in the upcoming wave of greenlit titles, we believe that it's only a matter of time :D
The New Demo
For those interested in seeing more gameplay, a new demo is available for download right here on Google Drive.
This version put emphasis on the adventure aspects of Kôna. Please note that even if it contains significantly more content than the atmosphere demo, it is still an early development version :) Anyway, we hope you enjoy it!
Feel free to stream some footage on Youtube, Twitch or any other platform.
The good news is: Kôna is still being covered by the press even after 20 days. We have a constant flow of new backers that come from many sources all over the web.
To name a few ones:
- Josh Wirtanen from GeekParty wrote two interesting articles (1, 2) on why he believes Kôna needs to be Kickstarted.
- The game appeared in Worth the Wait - Episode 19 on the Just OK Gamers
- An interview with Alexandre Fiset appeared on Cliqist.
- (French) Le jeu est apparu sur deux sites populaire: jeuxvideo.com et journaldugamer.com
- (French (Canada)) Kôna est apparu dans un article de La Presse ainsi que sur le site et Facebook de Petit Petit Gamin
Two third of the campaign is now behind us and there is still 19 000$ left to raise in order to succeed. Our goal is actually reachable, but not without effort!
For our part, now that the demo is out, we are still sending updates to popular gaming blogs who haven't published anything about Kôna yet. Alex will also be releasing an article explaining why the game is made in French and why we believe more non-english developers should take the same approach. We also hope to be greenlit before the campaign ends, which will certainly help gaining media attention!
If you're willing to give us an extra helping hand, you can share Kôna on all your social networks. Five percent of the people who watch the video pledges, so what we need is simply visibility!
In short, we need more views :)
