      @Mark Kevin Maginity The easiest way would be to reboot the Steam app. If there is no game updating when it restarts, it means Kona is up to date. We will probably add a version number to make it easier though in future patches.

      I know that Steam is supposed to update automatically, but is there some easy way to confirm my copy is up to date?

      OMG please add an option to turn off head-bob I get really motion sick when it is moving around all of the time.

      Hi there! I received 2 keys and I think I was only supposed to be 1? Or was the second key for the season pass? I backed at the season pass level. Just want to know if I can gift the second key or need it for the SP or if it was an error. Thanks!

      That's an issue with Unity games and nVidia drivers. Try the following: Right click on the game executable (kona.exe): Run with graphic processor > High Performance NVIDIA processor. If that fix the issue, you can (1) repeat that each time or (2) select "change default graphic processor" from the same right-click menu, and then add Kôna to the list and change its default settings. Let me know if that works :) Sorry for the inconvenience!

      @parabole yes its a laptop im running win 10 with nvidia 965M, i7-4710mq, 20gb ram.

      sadly when I go to start a new game my game crashes I tried a handful of things and nothing really helped and even when I start the game the snow background lags very much even on low graphics quality :(

      Hi!

      Glad you had fun even with those problems that came your way ;)

      You can't go over the wall in this build, as it would spoil the story, so that part is perfectly normal.

      For the truck thing, do you know approximately where you were? Was it close to the icewall? I would like to try and replicate it to see what happened.

      Other than those handful of problems, I really enjoyed the gameplay and narration.

      Just played through the beta as much as I could, and I got stuck on a few of the puzzles. I can't seem to find one of the components to fix the generator at the gas station. I've found several hidden keys, but not the one to open the shed at the house across the road from the logging camp. I ran my truck off the road heading north out of town and can't get it unstuck. I followed the trail into the forest, had a vision, but I think maybe the vision is not completing because two of the four spirits are just standing there. Not sure how to get further north to where I presume the mansion is located.

      Thanks to the creator the Beta is really cool it runs very well and it is more dificult to find the correct way in this game. So i am kind of lost after the petrol station.

      @Carl It's simply a question for stats, so just answer 1 to Xbox One and random numbers for the other 2 and you' good to go ;)

      @Parabola. I cannot get the survey to work on question 3. When I go to that question it shows only PS3. I choose n/a and then Xbox One and Wii show, but they then only have the the option n/a. Console option I want, only one I own, is Xbox One.

      Help!

      Unfortunately, the beta won't be available for VR. There are still a lot of optimization to do, so we focus on PC version for now.

      Is there a plan to also deploy Kona for Linux? Just migrated my PC to SteamOS and really like it. Ohterwise i migrate back to play your game :-)

      The voice wasn't computer generated. It's a voice actor from Ontario, Canada. We were looking for a voice that blends well with the atmosphere of the game. Sorry you didn't like it in the trailer. We hope you'll like it in the game once it's out ;)

      Info coming by the end of the month :) No worries everyone, we are 6 full time working on the game. We just need to focus on some elements of the game before the next update. BTW, the community manager will join us full time on november 1st and take care of managing rewards and etc.

      Hi Laudrac :) Sorry for getting back to you so late, I was on holidays. Keep an eye on our page in the coming week as a really big update is coming. The bottom line is that the beta will come at some point after PAX Prime in Seattle and the final game may end up being released a bit later this year.

      We are in the middle of a transition to have a dedicated person to interact with the community. You can expect an announcement next week or the week after depending on how it goes. Do not worry, he's someone really familiar with the team and its vision. He's actually my (Alex) brother. In the meantime, we still give short content updates on Twitter and Facebook. When everything is set up in place, updates will come at a more frequent pace.

      Hi Lawrence,

      It is a bit early to tell. Supporting new headsets depends on the availaibility of SDK made for the engine we use (Unity). For controllers, they must fit the game design. Right now we support both the Mouse/Keyboard combo and game controllers such as the Xbox 360/One and PS3/PS4 controllers. Motion tracking is currently out of our scope right now as it would affect the game design quite a bit. That being said, if the controller is close to a classic one, like the SteamOS one, then we will support it and not force the user to emulate Keyboard and Mouse.

      There have been a lot of announcements in the VR controller space beyond (I'm thinking specifically OSVR partners & Vive). As you are developing Kona, are you integrating their controllers or will their controllers need to emulate keyboard and/or mouse?

      Thank you very much for this positive and encouraging comment :)

      We simply want to be upfront with people as we know a lot of campaigns out there are not doing so good in term of delivering the promised content.

      We are living a dream right now as we have the opportunity to create something original without a publisher or investor over our heads. This is priceless to us and we are making sure to create the best experience we can with the ressources we have.

      Even in the worst case scenerio, the first episode will be out this year. I (Alex) am a guy who believe in the importance of deadlines. There is always something to improve in a game and we cannot do everything, especially with a relatively tight budget like ours. However, I do believe we are doing many great things right now and that releasing the game in May would have been a mistake. We now have a new plan and it is stronger than the last one.

      That being said, we are looking forward to releasing the game and seeing how it performs on the market :) Thanks again for the kind words and have a good day!

      Hey Kôna Creators,

      I hope others feel the way I do, and that is I want you to take all the time you need to make Kôna the way you want it to be.

      Forget deadlines, promises and predictions; and focus instead on making Kôna something you will always be proud of.

      All of us project backers put our money in for fun, and not because we had to have Kôna right now!

      When Kôna is ready, it will be a gift to everyone that receives it; and it will also be a surprise for everyone that just ignores the calendar, and lets it arrive when it arrives.

      My life is full (too full in many ways), and I'm busy most days, so I'm not worried about when you are going to release Kôna this year or next.

      We are all in this for the fun aren't we?

      So I want you, the creators to have fun too while you are developing Kôna!

      Hearing that you should be able to do the game on PS4 and Morpheus is fantastic news! If that becomes a reality, I'd love to have that option over playing through my mac. Good luck attracting additional funds! It's great to see updates, even when they're just small quick ones =)

      Quick Update: We attended to the Montreal International Game Summit at the beginning of this week and it was really awesome. We met with Sony in order to push the game on PS4 and Morpheus and we believe we should be able to do it with the resource we have. Then we also met with some publishers and have so send various pitches in order to attract some additional funding to increase the quality of the game. We will soon announce our plans with the forums and developer blog in order to receive feedback on the new version of the game. Stay tuned!
