The City Plate is an usable porcelain dish that resembles a city's unique shape and its main landmarks. Great for sharing food, storing items or just an awesome decoration piece.
We will be offering three options:
Landmarks - A set of four porcelain mini landmarks. Use as decoration or also perfect as a custom board game pawn.
City Plate - Embossed - Porcelain plate that contains the cities unique shape of rivers and water embossed.
City Plate - Landmarks - Porcelain plate that contains the cities unique shape of rivers and water embossed, including four main landmarks in 3D porcelain.
Each plate can be customized by adding a pinpoint on a specific place. Add €6,- to your pledge for each pinpoint (as many you would like!). After the campaign we will send a survey about the coordinates. Note that only the city center is included in the plate.
The list of cities will constantly expand. If the campaign reaches a certain amount of funds, additional cities will be added for all backers.
As the campaign continues we will expand the list. Let us know what city you would like to see next by filling in the below form:
About the design
Designer of the City Plates, Sander Lorier tells: ''As our client base has grown exponentially all over the world, we wanted to create a project that celebrates all these cities, with its unique look and characteristics.''
The funds that are raised in this campaign will be used to scale our production facility and invest in all the different custom mold and materials.
About Studio Lorier
Studio Lorier is a design firm that is based in the Netherlands. It specializes in the design and manufacturing of transformable furniture and handcrafted ceramics. In the last years we have grown exponentially and finished two successful Kickstarter projects.
Porcelain plates inspired by the world's unique buildings and cities, now on Kickstarter.
Studio Lorier announces a new addition in their collection; the City Plate. It is a porcelain platter, shaped in the texture of a well known city and contains the main architectural landmarks. These trays can be used for presenting food, storing items or a great addition to any interior. By running a crowd-funding campaign, Studio Lorier tries to raise enough funds via Kickstarter for a diverse collection of the most popular cities around the world.
Each plate and landmark is handcrafted in their Rotterdam based studio. All miniature buildings are slib-cast into self made molds. The landmarks are joined as a solid connection and all is finished with a non-toxic, food safe glaze that is even dishwasher proof.
During the crowd-funding campaign, people can support the project by funding it. Rewards vary from a set of mini landmarks, to an embossed city plate including it's architecture. You can even get a fully customized plate, made to order. Supporters can choose from a list of the most popular cities, that will expand when extra funds will be raised. During the campaign, backers have the possibility to get the city plates for the lowest price ever until December 4th 2018.

Risks and challenges
We work many years with trusted suppliers. If due to any circumstances these will not be available, we have to find new suppliers and test their materials, which could cause a delayed production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
