Take as much time as you need!

The new trailer was amazing. The games visuals and music are just breathtaking. I am so excited to dive into the universe of Narita Boy :D

It's okay! Delays for games, especially on Kickstarter, have come to be expected. I appreciate all the hard work you and your team have put into the project, and the fact that you were even willing to move to a different town to make things run smoothly! Now, as much as we'd all like to play the game as soon as we can, try not to get burnt out! I hope you'll take breaks and play some of those retro games with your programmer. If you take your time and don't rush or stress too much, then you'll all be happier, and I believe that the game will be more polished with fewer bugs upon release. Have a good one, and thank you for all your hard work!

You know what? There are plenty of nice indie games out there to make us wait for a while! What we want and what we need is the best of them all!! So just keep doin what you do best everyday, and we'll get what we are patiently waiting for... The best modern-retro-style-lofi-graphical-adventure experience we ever had!!

Take whatever it takes to accomplish this project we all share and love!

      Peace.
      Love.
      Game.

Games get delayed. It's okay. Congrats on the formation of the true studio! Moving can be a big deal. Kudos to all of you for taking that leap in the name of Narita Boy. We're still here for you and I'm personally thrilled at the progress.

Not even remotely worried about a delay, as a game developer myself I know these things are quite common and to be expected. I say ignore the pleas of some here that want more regular updates, as a previous kick starter campaign runner myself, I know how time-consuming updates can be and I would rather you guys just focus on making the game. They can wait, an updat once or twice a year is plenty as far as I’m concerned. Keep at it, we love the work so far, confident it’s going to be amazing.

Thanks for the update, glad there's positive things happening - it still looks amazing, take what time you need, it's never looked like a game that would benefit from being rushed out. Good luck and keep us posted!

    12. Chris Porter on

Thank you for the update. Take your time and create the game you envisioned when you started. You have my support!

    13. Jason Roy on

I believe we all come to expect delays in game development. It's just part of the process. No worries - take your time. By the sound of it, you've been through enough stress as it is. Relax, regroup and revive!

    14. Christopher Khuong on

Thanks for the update, looking forward to your progress :)

    15. Eli Weeks on

Thanks for the update! I understand all too well the struggles of game development. If putting a year of work will make the game awesome and something you’re proud of, we would be a fool to demand it now. Hopefully this means you guys will give us more regular updates. Good or bad, we want to be apart of the process and at the very least, offer you guys encouragement.

    16. Ryan Laukat on

This looks fantastic. Don’t worry about the delay. It’s easy to tell how devoted you are to the final product.

Welcome to indie game development guys. ;)

      Good luck.

    23. Rachel Beamon on

Just glad to hear development is still ongoing! More frequent updates would certainly assuage that sort of fear, but you have to prioritize where to can. Keep up the good work, your game looks amazing and I still can't wait to play it!

That continues to look wonderful - it has a lovely asthetic (similar to Swords and Sworcery, which I also love). Keep it up! (no worries on the delay - better done right, than never at all).

game development is such a fickle beast, delays are quite understandable. do what needs to be done to make the best product you can. that includes taking care of yourselves!

    26. Scott Werley on

All good! You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work. We're proud of the quality first mentality. Thanks for putting your hearts and souls into Narita Boy!

Trust an artist pushing his vision to the limits. Only true art happens then. In the entertainment industry, those limits to art are time and budget. We haven't invested in Narita Boy as a way of making money out of this but to give an artist total creative freedom and endless time to make something meaningful that will stay forever, we have pre-ordered the game and we want it to blow our minds, I'm super happy to be part of this as a witness. I don't need updates or stick my nose into their daily struggles. It's up to the team to manage both production and productivity within a given budget and their pressure and responsibility towards themselves to make a remarkable job. The only mandatory outcome is to deliver a great piece of art in the shape of a game. Haters will hate, lovers will love. I blindly trust in Eduardo's artistic skills. Production problems were a given in a first game ever by a team of 4 or 5 people. These guys are going to be so overwhelmingly proud once the game is finished. Courage, strength and don't let the beast burn you down. Cook it alive slowly and feed it to us. We're hungry.

I'll wait for a good game later over playing a rushed game now, any day! Good luck, and looking forward to play it when it's finished. Also, Great trailer!

Thank you for this update! I completely understand the delay. Indie game development is extremely difficult work! I'd rather have a great game than a rushed one, so take your time!
Narita Boy was the first ever project I backed on Kickstarter. I cannot wait to see the game completed!

I don't mind the delay, while i can't wait to get my hands on Narita Boy i would rather it be a finished well polished game than a rushed disaster! keep up the good work and know that we stand behind all of you!

I'm sure we all have so many games to play in the meantime. It's better you get it done the way you want than to rush it out. Though, it's also understandable that time is money. Hopefully you can find that balance. Good luck. Really looking forward to this one!!

here i'm waiting for a game named 'Star Citizen' since 2012, maybe you know it ?? :nerd:
and being very optimistic, I think to wait it another 2 or 3 years !

So, I'll wait for you 'Narita Boy' another year without problems
Take your time guys, to make the best game you can

I LOVE the depth of storytelling and aesthetic. You're taking your time and telling a story but when you do it kind of interactively (like having to press X until you draw the sword) make it that much more of a gem. IMO the jump and run animation are a lil wonky lol but keep up the good work I trust ya. ;)

Even if you'll deliver this game to the future generation of gamers, they will be thankful to their grandpas for supporting you on kickstarter.

    44. Gerard van Schip on

Like others commenting I'm happy to wait for this level of quality. That said I don't think the no updates in order to spoil the surprise washes. We are not asking for gameplay, artwork, music etc. Just once a month a "this was a good month" or even "this was a bad month but we are moving forward" is enough.

It would be nice of you to show us some more materials than just short trailer with plain old music theme from other trailers (some gameplay maybe? short demo?). One year delay is HUGE when you relate it to the fact that this campaign was started in February 2017. Tell us more what went wrong. Moreover, two updates per year seems to me like bad social media management. Let us see the progress guys!
