The First Post-Campaign Update
Today was the first time in the last 35 days that I didn't wake up, and immediately check my phone to see how our project was doing on Kickstarter. That was awesome. When you're running a crowdfunding campaign, even after the craziness of the initial launch, it's always there, at least at the back of your mind.
However, we know that the work isn't over, not at all.
You have put your trust in us to deliver the Discov3ry extruder on time, and we're committed to meeting your expectations.
Moving forward, as a few community members have requested, we'll be providing a weekly update. Even if we don't have a lot to say, we will update you every Wednesday, starting now.
Production Update #1: July 16th, 2014
The next step in the process of delivering the Discov3ry is finalizing the design for manufacturing. Through the course of the campaign, we've been speaking with potential design firms to ensure that this final step is done right.
In 10 minutes, we will go into our first project meeting with our chosen design partner, Fidus Systems. They have over a decade of experience in product design in electronics and mechanical hardware. What most excited us about Fidus was their enthusiasm for our product and their willingness to work closely with us to maintain our vision.
The fact that their offices are in the same building as us, will of course facilitate that kind of close working relationship.
In the next week, we’ll begin collecting the information we need from everyone to fulfill your perks. We’ll be using a system called BackerKit, to help us manage the fulfillment process smoothly.
T-Shirts will begin shipping in early August, Nutella pictures around the same time.
In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any questions, here or via firstname.lastname@example.org (that email address goes to all of us).
