Fearsome Weirdos is a trading card set born out of all my favorite childhood things! It's a mix of monsters, weirdos and the trading cards I grew up on! Everything from Aurora model kits, Wacky Packages, Weird-Ohs, B-Monster movies and more! This set is comprised of 36 cards which includes 25 characters and 10 product parody cards. Backs include two, 9-piece puzzles, a checklist, and more art!
Reward tiers offer uncut press sheets, my original art from the set, a book collecting the entire set and sketch cards!
All backers will receive a Dead Label Sticker and a Convicted Witch Of The West postcard. Backers will also have the opportunity to add on different rewards to their pledge, info down below!
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my campaign! I'd greatly appreciate any support and sharing of the project!
Please feel free to write at any time with comments or questions!
Here are some of the cards from the set! Please note that not all art is final!
UPDATE! PROOFS ARE IN!
Got the proofs back for the set and they look great! Can't wait to have these printed up! Here's a look at THE TWIT AND THE PENDULUM!
Here's the front and back of MAI TAI FLY!
And here's one of the Sketch Cards! FINGERSTEIN by Chris Meeks! Remember sketch cards are randomly added to those who back that reward.
I'll be offering a limited amount of original sketch cards, drawn by myself and some artist friends, which will be randomly inserted for those who back the sketch card tier!
I've curated a very select set of artist with greatly varying styles, some are know to world of trading cards and some aren't. I'm very excited to see their take on the Fearsome Weirdos! Each artist will just be illustrating 5 sketch cards for the campaign.
The artist are: Jason Crosby, Howard Chackowicz, El Gato Gomez, Daniel Horne and Smokin' Joe McWilliams and Chris Meeks! See their bio's down below!
Although most of the art in the set was finished digitally, they all began with some sort of sketch or drawing that I then scanned and worked digitally. Here are some of the illustrations used in creating the set.
Please Note: All of the original art listed here is either on drawing paper or bristol and is finished in ink and ink wash except for the Dead Label Zombie which is in pencil.
Extra sets of the cards, along with uncut sheets and the book can all be added to your pledge as an Add-On. Just add the correct dollar amount listed below to your pledge when checking out.
For example, if you back the FEARSOME WEIRDOS SET + SKETCH CARD which is a $70 pledge, and want to add the uncut sheets, you would then add $30 to your pledge of $70, for a total of $100 (plus shipping fees) when checking out.
When the campaign ends, a survey will be sent out and at that time you would specify what items you want for the extra money you pledged.
Please note: Due to the very limited amount, Sketch cards cannot be added on to a pledge.
