Cyberpunk Soundtracks is a collection of retrofuturistic tabletop gaming soundscapes, sound effects and songs to set the mood and inspire creative gaming sessions for cyberpunk and science fiction themed games like Shadowrun, Android, Netrunner, Cyberpunk 2020, CyberSpace or futuristic miniatures games like Heavy Gear, Warhammer 40K, Battletech etc. (no endorsement implied, theses are just examples of games that might be aurally enhanced by this project).
Here is a sound sampler including snippets from all 100 tracks included in the EXTENDED soundscape package:
Here is a sound sampler including snippets from all 30 tracks included in the BASIC soundscape package:
The sounds ranges from cybernetic ambient to industrial inspired synthesizer music and were inspired by seminal cyberpunk works like William Gibson’s Neuromancer, Blade Runner, Akira, Max Headroom, Bruce Sterling’s Mirrorshades anthology, Hideo Kojima's Snatcher, Hackers, Deus Ex, Ghost in the Shell, etc.
The tracks are divided into three main categories: backgrounds, sound effects and songs. The Basic package includes 10 backgrounds and 20 songs. The Extended features 20 backgrounds, 32 songs and 48 sound effects. Here are some examples:
Backgrounds: Backgrounds are primarily ambient and are used to set the mood for scenes as the name might suggest. The length of these tracks range from about 6-20 minutes and they loop or fade appropriately for seamless playing in the background.
Songs: Songs are more traditional, shorter and usually percussion and melody driven. These were created with NPC encounters, combat/hacking missions and plot points in mind. These tracks are about 2-20 minutes long and most can be looped.
Sound Effects: Sound effects can be used by the DM or players to reinforce the action or events unfolding, such as the sound of crowds at a busy ramen noodle stand or matrix runs. The tracks range from only a few seconds long to several minutes.
*Please keep in mind these samples are streaming mp3s at 128kbps The original files can be delivered at full lossless quality with no compression artifacts.

The tracks were designed to be cued up in a soundboard app for use while playing tabletop games. Many free or inexpensive soundboard apps are available for almost every operating system or mobile device, it's nice to live in the future sometimes! The soundscapes can also be cued up on a typical mp3 player, iTunes, etc., but soundboards allow for a fast and graphically intuitive way to play back the tracks as the mood of the game changes.
Non-exclusive commercial use. Most of the other tabletop gaming audio projects out there restrict the use of the soundtracks to non-commercial home use only. I am not placing that restriction. The purchase of this collection of music, effects and ambient sounds also gives you royalty free non-exclusive permission to use them in your own commercial or creative project like a podcast, video game, app, play, movie, etc. “Non-exclusive” because everyone else who purchases the collection is allowed to use them as well. If you would like a custom exclusive track composed and produced, or an entire exclusive score and sound effects, please see the appropriate pledge level to the right! Please make sure you credit me if you use the colection in a commercial project and just send me a message to let me know you found the tracks useful! If you have any questions please send me a message!
I have tried to keep the reward levels clear and simple, so I will do the same for stretch goals.
If the project reaches $20,000 I will add an additional hour of material to ALL reward levels. If the project reaches $50,000 I will produce another two hours, for a total of three more hours material for ALL reward levels.
After payment for the project is processed unique download codes will be emailed to backers. The files can then be downloaded in your choice of lossless or compressed audio formats: FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, MP3 VBR, MP3 320, ALAC, or AAC.
My name is Strangelette, I have been producing electronic music for about a decade. Here is my last.fm bio:
Strangelette lives in a dimension made of nightmares; in a world that never was, because it only exists within her imagination. Her music belongs in a pseudo Gothic movie, or a video game. You decide. While her inspiration varies, it is obvious her mind is teeming with Halloween themes and spooky-cute concoctions just waiting to be realized. “Think of Beetlejuice commanding on Space Patrol Orion,” or The Addams Family takes on a 3D role-playing game. Dark Electronica with its main focus on melody, spiced with just a hint of the Avant-Garde.
Thank you for listening, I hope you find these soundscapes will bring more depth and enjoyment to your gaming!
Risks and challenges
The project will be delivered digitally via a well regarded audio file system using download codes. The biggest challenge will be creating custom tracks if those reward levels are chosen and additional stretch goal material if those goals are reached. I am prepared to meet this challenge and have been producing the tracks for this collection for the last several years.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
