Timing and Control are paramount in sports.
We at Storelli believe our latest innovation - SpeedGrip Socks - can be of massive help to athletes seeking a superior sense of Speed, Power and Control.
How Does It Work?
Made with thin, light, moisture-wicking compression fabric — rather than materials used in classic athletic socks — we use premium fibers and heat to bond a layer of grip fabric to the sock. SpeedGrip Socks provide 90% more grip than a typical insole.
This fabric, which grips on both the inside and outside of the sock, is laser cut in key positions so that the foot has direct contact with the grip where it needs it most, resulting in better contact and control with the shoe.
Athletes are in a constant battle between energy and error.
Micro-errors such as slipping and sliding in your footwear are an inefficient use of energy.
Reduce those errors and you have more power and control.
Testing carried out at Progressive Sports Technologies at the University of Loughborough found that when compared to traditional athletic socks in controlled un-shoed tests that Speedgrip Socks:
- Deliver up to 135% more grip against the foot’s skin.
- Provide 70% more grip than a normal sock on a typical insole.
- Enabled a more efficient transfer of energy by reducing slippage, generating up to 35% more force changing direction– making the athlete more explosive.
- 70% of athletes tested said they felt faster when wearing SpeedGrip Socks.
Our SpeedGrip Socks are designed and developed in-house by our team of experts in Brooklyn. Where traditional sock materials are often knitted or woven, the unique material of SpeedGrip Socks is made of fibers bonded together using heated pressure. Engineered like no other socks, the light, moisture-wicking compression fabric fits like a second skin.
The movements of your feet are extremely complex, yet the footwear industry is mostly focused on improving shoes only, while largely ignoring socks – which are the key connectors to your footwear! We believe that there’s no point in having expensive footwear if your feet are sliding around inside your shoes, causing loss of balance and reduced performance.
Foot traction equals power – every time you sprint, stop, turn, jump, run – all of this depends on the quality of traction in your footwear.
There has been very little innovation when it comes to socks. At Storelli, we think it’s about time they got an upgrade. Your socks are the main point of contact with your footwear, and consequently with the ground, the world, and the sports you do – of course socks should be engineered and optimized to enhance your performance and speed. Forget everything you know about socks. We’re changing things up.
A key element to the design is making sure that the same grip material that grips the foot, grips the shoe as well. We’ve achieved this by laser cutting out holes into the sock in strategic positions – such as the ball of the foot, and the heel of the foot, to make sure users get a direct contact with the material which has direct contact with the shoe.

We are a sports apparel and technology company with a mission to give athletes an edge to break physical and mental barriers. We like to think of our products as secret weapons and we are constantly on the lookout for new solutions and technologies to problems often overlooked by others. It all started in Brooklyn, and took off in 2015.
With our origins in impact and abrasion-resistant soccer gear we learned a lot about the human body and boosting athletic performance without compromising movement and speed. In our quest to prevent rolling ankles and foot slippage we ventured into new territory launching the brand’s first-ever traction product — SpeedGrip Insoles.
We launched this through the Kickstarter community in May and raised 4x our funding goals, but the most value came from being able to communicate directly with gear fanatics and early adopters, helping us improve the product much faster than we thought we could.
This time round we hope to get your support as we take our SpeedGrip Socks to market. This is the second innovation made with SpeedGrip fabrics, through a design process that unravels 100+ years of sock making.
Risks and challenges
We have successfully brought over 35 products to market so far.
We’re no newbies to Kickstarter – previously this year, we successfully launched our SpeedGrip™ Insoles on the platform. The experience has been wonderful and we’re happy to say we've been able to keep our promises and shipped our insoles to over a thousand backers in June this year.
We plan our logistics meticulously and know what we have to do to run a tight campaign.
Of course, we do know that not everything is in our control – in the rare circumstance of a natural disaster or other unforeseen event that delays the production or delivery of your SpeedGrip™ Socks, we will keep you in the loop every step of the way.
As our previous backers can bear witness to, we believe in being communicative and transparent! We’ll continue to keep everyone up to speed on our progress during the campaign, through delivery and beyond.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
