Stool Pigeon is a tactical card game where you work to eliminate your mafia family & make life harder for you rivals by adding to their mafia family.
Just a good bird caught in a bad situation...
You're a pigeon minding your own business. Just eating some bread under a park bench when, BLAMMO! The Feds roll you up and throw you in a cell. "Felony Littering," they said. "Could carry a life sentence," they said. "Unless, of course, you'd be willing to help us out..."
So now, all of a sudden, you're not just a pigeon minding your own business. You're a pigeon blackmailed into infiltrating a Mob Family and eliminating them from the inside. A Stool Pigeon, if you will. a Stool Pigeon who is out of options. I mean, what else are you going to do... go to the police? That would just be squawkward for everyone.
Good luck out there, Stool Pigeons. May the best bird win!
One night, I (Brian) got invited to a game night at a friend’s house. We played a card game with a regular deck of cards that was really fun and had a name I couldn’t remember. My brother Nate loves games so I decided I should teach it to him and see what he thought. We played and he thought it was pretty great - but it could be better. He spent months playtesting and tweaking the rules into a game that was even more fun. Then one day he called me up and said “Let’s make Stool Pigeon into a real game!” and I said “What the heck is a stool pigeon?” After he caught me up on what he meant, it was clear we couldn’t get this off the ground without our friend Jon. Jon is an entrepreneur to his core and an amazing designer. We called him up and he said “Wait, what is a Stool Pigeon…”
Nate: Nate lives games. Doesn’t matter where he is or who is with, he is devising some sort of game that everyone can play together. On the team he is the one creating the mechanics and rules of the game and heads up the play testing. He has organized Stool Pigeon tournaments and already has expansion cards in the testing lab.
Jon: Jon has started a few companies and is a brilliant designer. If a picture is worth a thousand words, Jon’s art is worth a million. On the team, he has the most experience starting a business and is responsible for every piece of art in our game. He is the reason any of this makes sense to your eyes.
Brian: Brian just wants to start a business with his friends. Jack of some trades, master of none, his role on the team is vague. His focus on the team is sorting out boring financial stuff and beating Jon at golf.
