Greetings Backers!

Before we introduce our Wizard, Kerrick, we wanted to bring to your attention a brand new review by Jack from The Cardboard Herald.  Jack dives into Battle for Biternia and quickly shrugs off attempts by the adorable Bard to charm his way out of the review.  In the end Jack is victorious and gives a great review highlighting the various pros and cons of Battle for Biternia.  Is this game for you?  See what he has to say below!

The Making of a Wizard 

Kerrick was one of the first Heroes created for Biternia, and one of the last perfected. Specializing in Area attacks, he can deal massive damage to lots of enemies if positioned well. Pulse, with its generous Area attack of 5, is Kerrick's bread and butter. While it can devastate a group of enemies, it offers no defense, so any foes that survive can exact their revenge. Prism Bolt, the Wizard's ranged option, lets him stay out of harm's way while damaging and confusing an enemy. These attacks deal magic damage, which can bypass some defenses like the Fighter's trait or the Monk's Aikido.

But Kerrick's real strength is his versatility. His trait, Spellbook, allows you to switch his assigned card for one in your hand. Enemies didn't group up like you thought? Save that Pulse for later, and put down a basic card instead. This is particularly potent with Blink, a harmless-looking movement card with interrupt that, thanks to Spellbook, can be swapped out for something more offensive if you don't need to use it.

Finally, there's Meteo. One of the most powerful ultimates in the game, it not only drops an Area attack on Kerrick's space, but also hits every adjacent space as well. With proper positioning, Meteo can wreck almost half of the board. While Kerrick shines in versatility and offense, his durability and defense are lacking. His hit points are low, and few of his powers offer much in the way of protection. Nevertheless, with the powers our Wizard brings to the table, a skilled player can make him one of Biternia's most dangerous Heroes.

Summary:

While Kerrick lacks in defense, he is extremely adaptable and deals tons of damage. If you like being able to change you plans on the fly, he's the Hero for you.
