Backer Update #2 - Introductions!
It has been a whirlwind first few days and we’ve made a huge dent in our funding goal! We are currently up to 64% with over $11,500 pledged so far!
Today we wanted to set aside a minute to pay tribute to some of the great talents we have helping us out and who have turned Battle for Biternia from a bunch of blank cut-outs into the gorgeous work it is now:

Fábio Fontes: Pixel Master
Fábio is the man responsible for all the sprites, box art, and card images you see. He is a master of the retro style and has a keen eye for character, which gives each Hero in Battle for Biternia a s look and feel.
Fábio lives in Portugal, and is perhaps best known for his work with Level 99 Games, including BattleCON, Pixel Tactics, and Millenium Blades.
Laura La Vito: Visual Rock Star
What Fábio draws, Laura helps bring to life. Her work on card and component layout and design make Battle for Biternia look modern and fresh despite the retro graphics. The cards are simple and intuitive, yet a wonder to behold. Laura also created all of the dynamic graphical elements for our kickstarter. The game rendering, the hero graphic, and all the amazing elements that bring the old-school RPG feel to the forefront.
Based out of Chicago, Laura has also done work for Level 99, most recently Temporal Odyssey, which only has a few hours left! We're excited for her to help us bring the Battle for Biternia components from prototype to published!

Finally as promised we’ll be starting our Hero introductions with today’s Backer Update. Our first Hero, by request, is Dazeem, The Ice Mage!
The Making of an Ice Mage:
Dazeem is our answer to the question, "What should a support caster look like?" She comes equipped with a kit that trades ranged damage for ranged utility. Don't get us wrong -- Dazeem can and will pick off enemy heroes who fail to respect her power, but there are far better heroes available to you if you're in the market for ranged damage.
While Dazeem is one of the few support characters who lacks a heal, her trait mitigates that shortfall by reducing the damage output of anyone she hits. A successful Dazeem weaves herself throughout the battlefield, using her two offensive powers to increase either the range (Freeze) or the area (Blizzard) of her damage potential in order to stack up applications of her trademark debuff where they are needed the most.
Dazeem's third power (Ice Wall) offers pure utility at its finest by making certain approaches completely impassible -- perfect for creating choke points, trapping enemies within range of your towers, or stalling until backup can arrive. Finally, when Dazeem lets it go, her ultimate (Absolute Zero) rewards the application of chill tokens in tandem with clever positioning by setting up one of Biternia's only "instakills". However, in true support fashion, an ally is required to make the most of it by striking the shattering blow.
Dazeem reduces enemies' attack whenever she hits them. Combining this with the effects of her disruptive Powers can throw your opponents' plans into chaos.
