While we cannot speak definitively to the exact implementation of the Lighthouse technology (but boy are excited for it), we understand that it will allow near perfect positional tracking in a defined area. There may eventually be various methods for locomotion using this technology (redirected walking, head bob or even foot tracking), but the core problems of VR locomotion still remain the same; "how do you allow unrestricted movement within a restricted space?". As most users will likely still plan to use the Vive/Oculus CV1 in their home office or another relatively small area with furniture and obstacles, we still see a need for a simple, accessible locomotion solution that will also allow you to take advantage of the full body tracking. So rather than see the Lighthouse as an obstacle for our wearable locomotion tech, we actually see them working together quite well! Stompz will allow you to safely run through these VR experiences and then use absolute positional tracking to duck, dodge crouch and jump with 1:1 accuracy.
