Dan had thrown his songster hands in the air after pitching for years to certain music types who didn’t know crap about songwriting.
Seth had survived the major label meltdown as his “six-single-deep” record was cast off like extra baggage from a capsized tanker.
Still a writer / composer / producer based in LA, Seth was hired to record Dan’s swan song vanity project.
Digging deep into the O’Leary catalog, they rewrote, revised, and arrived at ten solid tunes.
The newly cowriting pair hired top notch LA studio musicians to get the snowball rolling. Check out the impressive and growing list below!
With Seth on lead and backing vocals and Dan joining in on backing vocals, they originally recorded guitars and keys themselves as well.
Now, remember Letters To Cleo from the movie “10 Things I Hate About You” or their hit song “Here And Now”? When Kay Hanley speaks, people listen. Seth and Dan listened when she said the songs were too great to have only good recordings.
This is no longer a vanity project for Dan. With the momentum building and the songs sounding more kick-ass, it is clear that we now need your help.
We spent all our money getting assistance from some of the incredible talent helping us, but now all these pros are working only on faith in our music, clocking hundreds of unpaid hours and allowing us to eat up their studio time, as well. At this point we’re halfway through the recording. We owe these people bigtime! What if funding goes above and beyond? Then we’ll be able to release and promote the record independently.
So let's do it, people! Watch our video, sample some early mixes at www.stillspark.com, www.facebook.com/stillspark, www.myspace.com/stillspark, or www.reverbnation.com/stillspark, check out the prizes / rewards, and become a part of our exciting project. Remember, it won’t be funded unless we reach our goal. So spread the word and share the link. Don’t wait, we only have 30 days!
So far our "snowball of rock" has swallowed up this awesome list of people. Maybe you're next! Jack Black? Are you out there?
