Production Update #5
we would like to give you another update on the production and shipping process. We completed shipping the first batch of packages last week. This first batch only contains orders with Night Sky, Rose Moon and Comet Grey fountain pens. We just sent out the tracking numbers via email. When you receive your pen and notice any issue, please let us know via email@example.com.
As you may have noticed already, the shipping of pens does not progress as fast as expected before. We are really sorry for keeping you waiting a little longer! This delay is due to some assembly difficulties that became apparent recently. Realizing the alignment of the barrel and cap is even more challenging than we initially anticipated. That's probably why nobody dared to release such a design before. A small rotatory deviation of the cap magnet during assembly results in a quite obvious imperfection of the flat surface alignment of the final product. It's one thing to make a few dozens of perfectly aligned fountain pens in our office, but a totally other to produce a few thousand with perfect alignment - it's challenging to say the least. Unfortunately, we were forced to throw more than a hundred caps of falsely aligned fountain pens away, because of the described problem. We took measures to improve the process and ensure the magnets keep their alignment during assembly. We are also double-checking every fountain pen by ourselves now.
On a positive note, the quality of the aluminium and titanium bases is really good. They are all checked, packaged in their boxes and ready for shipping. Same for all other accessories.
The year is going to an end soon and we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for supporting us on our journey of creating design products, which are more than just nice aesthetics, but also offer an interesting new feature to stand out from all other stationery products. We really appreciate your trust and patience! It's the nature of every product development and production that there are ups and downs, but in the end we always strive to leave no unsatisfied customer behind! We keep you updated on the progress of assembly and shipping in the second week of January.
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday!
Martin & Christoph
