We made the initial funding goal! Thank you so much for supporting the show! Now that the campaign has reached 100 backers, I will do a video episode, based on interviews / experiences at ALA2013!

My podcast features interviews with librarians, talking about the cool, innovative work they are doing to keep the profession relevant for the 21st century. Here are a few of the most popular episodes:
I find myself wanting to push the boundaries and expand the show. I am planning to attend the American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago this summer and I would love to do in-person interviews, including one with superstar librarian Nancy Pearl!
All backers of this Kickstarter campaign will receive early access to the Nancy Pearl interview before it goes live on the show.
However, to do in-person interviews, I need new and upgraded equipment, and to create a better sounding show in the future, I need to improve the software and equipment that I use in my home office.
My initial goal includes:
- portable digital recorder (Zoom H1) to enable in-person interviews
- audio editing software (SoundSoap, LogicPro) to improve the sound of the show
- new microphone (Blue Yeti) for home office
- fee to Pamela Klicka, the musician who created the show's great theme music at no cost (I think it's high time to reward her for her great work)
Check out the supercool t-shirt design you'll receive at certain reward levels (the tote bag will have a similar design). This black design will be exclusive to Kickstarter backers!
Now that initial funding has been reached, the following are my stretch goals:
Risks and challenges
While my full-time day job is in a library, the podcast is produced entirely on my own time, so if a personal or family situation arose that took up a lot of my time, the production schedule could be impacted.
Since I am asking for funds to pay for equipment, it's possible prices will rise above what I budgeted for during the course of the campaign so I would not be able to purchase as much or as high quality as I had hoped. If this were to happen, I would search for sites that offered deals so I could make the most of the money I raise.
The show would not exist if not for the willing and flexible participation of its guests. While everyone has the best of intentions, it is possible that situations might arise where scheduling (on my end and my guests' ends) might delay production of an episode, affecting its timeliness. I tend to work ahead so that I can take scheduling delays into account and I would continue to do so to help mitigate this possibility.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
